I’ve been meaning to do this blog for awhile, but never got to it for one reason or another. I was going through my inventory one day and decided that a blog about mixing old items with new needed to be done. I buy many things over the course of events, but I also use those items with oldies but goodies. I have favorite hair or outfits that will always remain staples in my wardrobe.

I remember buying this cute outfit from Foxes, which is one of my favorite companies. I also met one of my friends wearing this outfit, so it holds special meaning for me. I love wearing it out and about while shopping.

While shopping I found hair that went perfectly with my Tarot outfit by Foxes–an oldie but goodie. I couldn’t pass up Shaawat by Little Bones available at this month’s Uber—to go along with my Indian inspired skirt and top. The hair comes with two versions–one with the scarf and one without the scarf. I decided to wear the one with the scarf, because I thought it was just perfect with this little ensemble.

I think it’s really important to mix old with new. I mean people wear Vintage Chanel for a reason? Sometimes there are just classics that will remain important pieces in your wardrobe or become part of your signature style. I have clothes that will always remain part of my go to folders. I tend to always like a classic heel or big hair. So I will pair my new dresses with those treasures. I have a few from Spellbound that are just part of me. What can I say? I love big hair. As a result of my love for things old and new, I’m going to create a weekly event called Mixed and Matched. At any time, feel free to post your mixed and matched outfits during the week.

Now for something a little different….

Hayabusa Design Elegant Tree Humble M15-1 M2 v3-1 T1 Gift

Normally, I don’t include trees and foliage in my blog, but I was given a tree from a really sweet designer. It’s so beautiful and I really do love it in front of my house. I’ll be using this tree in my yard for a long time.

The reason I never blog about foliage is because I lack the green thumb that others have. I am wonderful with putting an outfit together, but sometimes leave something to be desired, when it comes to placing grass and flowers in my yard.

However, I have a huge soft spot for flowers in all worlds. I chose my name because of this love–(and yes I know daffordil is not how you spell daffodil). I made that error on purpose, so I could be a misspelled flower in second life :-p.

Seriously, though, I greatly appreciate this tree. Hayabusa Design makes really gorgeous landscaping and I highly recommend them. I would like to thank Mitsuko Kytori for gifting me this beautiful tree. I was very touched by this designer’s generosity. I hope you find their store as amazing as I do!

As always, happy shopping!!

I went to the latest round of Collabor88 or affectionately known to some as C88 for short. This month’s theme was Into The light, which meant a lot of Linden spent on my part. Everything I have in my home and on my person seems to be either pink or white.

There were some fabulous items that could be worn for business or pleasure. I was so inspired by the outfits. I created this lovely scenario. Maybe it was the long weekend or a need to feel like getting away for awhile. Or maybe too much Sex In The City reruns or the season premier of Rich kids. Any way, this post is a story in pictures from fab designers–inspired by too much television.

It all starts off with wearing something chic and moves towards wearing items that are purely fabulous. Who says a girl can’t change her mind and change everything–even in a day.

I’m wearing a blazer and pencil skirt from one of my favorite designers on the grid-The Secret Store (although…now they’re not so secret). They always create something classy that can be worn to a business meeting or even outfits that are wonderful for a trip out to get ice cream. No matter what… you are sure to shine in this piece and it will soon become a staple in any resident’s wardrobe.

Next is an outfit that literally makes me wish this was in my rl closet.

In this photo, I put this on and felt like sipping champagne on an expensive yacht with my closest friends. I had to find a chic place to take pictures to capture the feel of this outfit. Sometimes you have to let the clothes speak to you in a scene and let them tell a story. Sometimes that story is dark and sometimes its light. And sometimes you want to be doing the things that you’ve always wanted to do. For me, this is definitely something on my wish list–living the posh life, while sipping bubbly in style with friends. I was able to do that yesterday and in great style thanks to the wonderful designers who helped to created this outfit.

Next is an outfit that I would wear after obtaining that beautiful glow from the sun’s rays.

After a hard day of working business deals and mingling with friends on a yacht, it has come time to dine with flair and go ballroom dancing–then walk the streets of Paris. No self respecting rich kid can be without fine dining and travel. So after the yacht was docked, I headed out to the jet to take my mile high self to Paris for only the finest of cuisine and ballroom dancing the world had to offer me.

This meant finding the perfect dress from Junbug on 50L Friday, which I feel is basically stealing. This dress is worth so much more than 50L, but the designer graciously made it available to the public at this incredible deal. Who knew a rich kid could find an inexpensive dress? Needless to say, this company is one of my go to dress makers for an extravagant gowns.

So I challenge you to create a story in pictures. As always, Happy Shopping!

Cheers
xoxo

Oh Lelutka, You Had Me At Mesh Head

I promised a post about mesh heads from Lelutka and here it is. A few weeks ago, I purchased my very first mesh head from Lelutka called Aria. I stalked flickr and all of the pictures. I kept seeing pictures and heard all of the buzz. As soon as the heads were unveiled, I rushed over to the store to get the demo. I wasn’t disappointed.

I am so surprised by the little extras included with this mesh head. When you purchase the head, it includes the following: aphas for head with no eyes, head with eyes, Head and body with no eyes, head and body with eyes. It also has eyeshadow appliers with three options, 8 hairbases for thick and fine hair applier, lip applier for lighter or darker pigments, face light, rogue bun, and hud for the bun. There are light blond, honey, darker blond, brunette, strawberry blond, red, white, and black hairbases. However, it did not include a hud for eyebrows. Even though there are no eyebrow options for the head included, Glam Affair made an applier for the Lelutka heads which allows you to change your eyebrow, eyeshadow, and lipstick–however they do not have appliers for all the Lelutka heads.

There are also companies that are already making skin, hair, and makeup that are compatible with Lelutka mesh heads. ItGirls has an applier for eyeshadow with Brown, dark, light and without brows. The applier also has an applier for lipstick. ItGirls also made skin that is Lelutka compatible. Adored also made Lelutka friendly appliers for eyeshadow called sorrow shadows.

Aria Hud

I wanted to take this moment to talk about the options of the hud and also the extras that come with this mesh head. As you can see from the picture above, there are a ton of options with this hud. The mouth and eyes have a choice between keeping them open or closed. The ears can be hidden. This is wonderful, if you have ears from various stores. The blinking eyes can be turned off. If your neck needs to be modified, there are options to increase the size by 0, 5, 7, 11, or 24. There are 10 skin applier options with a shimmer option. The pigment of the eyeshadow can be increased by a sliding bar.

There’s another option to increase or decrease the shimmer of the eyeshadow. The lipstick’s pigment can also be increased or decrease–along with the shine. Increasing and decreasing pigment is a great option, because it’s like getting a ton of different shades of lipstick and eyeshadow from appliers. The lashes can be full or thinner–with an option to tint them. The hairbases can also be tinted through the hud. Finally, all of these options can be hidden within the hud.

And last but definitely not least, I bought another mesh head from the latest round called Stella. Right now, I love wearing this head. It photographs beautifully. Then again, in my opinion, all of them photograph quite well.

There are a few other things to consider before your purchase. Makes sure you have a mesh body. The mesh heads cost 2,500 linden, which is about $10.24 in US dollars. I’m also going to include important TP destinations down below.

As always….Happy Shopping.

Shape has been edited.

So this is one of my shorter blogs. Once in awhile, my life will get very busy. This week was no exception. Mother’s day and an important birthday fall within the same week for me–not to mention a doctor’s visit. I’ve been so busy.

I went to the latest round of We Heart RP and I wasn’t let down. I bought so much stuff. This head piece and dress were one of my favorite items. Of course, I can’t be blamed for purchasing it in my favorite color–pink. I couldn’t help myself. If you want to see all of the spectacular items, you have to go see it for yourself.

So for my next post, I want to talk about the Lelutka mesh heads that just came out not to long ago. I’ve purchased two of them and absolutely love them. But I’m not going to talk about that too much. Normally I would include that post in with this one, but the mesh heads are so extraordinary that they deserve their own post. Also, I’m not a big fan of mesh heads, but I fell in love with two of them and had to buy them. See you next time!

As always…. happy shopping!!
