Carpe Diem?

Dedicated to the ones we have lost this summer.

I’ve always thought about this saying to seize the day, but does one actually contemplate what it means. I think we all as individuals seize the day in ways that are meaningful to us. In sl, maybe we go on scandalous adventures or make long term friends–or maybe get close to those who feel like family. Some people build absolutely beautiful sims for residents to enjoy. We all choose a way to seize the day in our sl lives along with our real lives that puts a mark on this world.

Lately, there have been many passing of second life residents. While I may never know their names or the people personally, I still think of these souls in my day. Some of these beautiful souls have become great friends to the people inworld. They’ve built sims along side relationships with the people in this crazy world.

They chose to seize their day in a virtual world. I’m a firm believer that we take our time on this precious plane and leave a mark. The owner of Alouette will be greatly missed. I’ve been to her sim and the love is shown on the walls. This post is dedicated to her and the many others who have passed this summer.

In death, there is great sadness, but I have always believed that there is also great joy in the celebration of life. It is the precious memories in pictures and in our minds eye that are more precious than gold. We hold onto those memories to teach us and to grow from them. We seize the day with all of those wondrous gifts that life gives us–and we learn from the hardships.

I hope that each resident takes today to do something meaningful to them–hug a resident in need, listen to a friend, dance in a night club, and laugh uncontrollably at silly things. Life is short and living is hard. Lets all take a moment to think of those who have passed. Be good to one another.

I’ve Been A Bad Girl

I was caught and outed as a disorderly drunk on the street. The cops found me and put me in cuffs. They humiliated me and made me stand in front of everyone to show case my silliness. Ohhh but it was so much fun and I would do it again. It was an unforgettable night.

It all started when this dear friend of mine gave me this little number. I had the clothes, money and friends. There was only one thing left to do—go out dancing of course and purchase some top shelf liquor. So my friends piled into a car and headed into the darkest of alleys with the hottest clubs in town. I had my club clothes on and I was ready to go.

My friends asked me about my outfit, so I gave them the scoop. I told them that Pink had made this outfit for a July 25, 2015 sneak peak release. She named it half pipe. She was even kind enough to hand me the card with the address of the store and she mentioned that it came in skulls and graffiti. I knew that the outfit was just skater enough to hang out at my local skater bar.

After that brief run in with my fav designer, I headed over to the store and decided to check it out. I rummaged through the clothes and bought one of everything. I went home and opened my packages and started creating outfits right away. I even had to put on my favorite weave…. I mean hair accessories.

Then, my friends called to invited me out and the rest was history. We went out and drank. We danced….not well mind you. We sang. We got lost in the moment. Then, there was a noise complaint and someone got rowdy. Punches were thrown and words were said. Well, I never miss a fight, so I threw a punch back. Except, I didn’t hit the skater. Nope, I hit a cop in the head with my chair.

Now, here I am with me in cuffs in front of a police cruiser. One of my lovely friends was so kind to capture the moment with her phone. She even used one of those nice apps on her phone to make it look pretty. She’s laughing. I’m still sitting in jail. So if you’re reading this blog, ummm could someone call my friend Kira. I need bail desperately. I don’t like the looks of the people in this jail cell. Help!

Sunshine On A Cloudy Day

My cloudy day started oh I would say about twelve hours ago, but fear not for Second Life has provided me with a bit of sunshine. One of the best parts of a virtual world is that you never get sick. If only we didn’t get sick in the real world…. As a direct result of the plague hitting me hard, I hit the beach in this new number–well a second life beach. It was still a beach though.

This dress made me think of beaches in exotic lands with a nice cold drink in my hand. If only my body realized that this is my goal, I could make my second life dreams come true. But alas, second life beaches and sunny dresses will have to do. I can pretend to be well and hot.

Pink Rayne created this dress with that it girl strutting around looking hot and untouchable in mind. It will be available on July 25, 2015 at a sneak peak. It’s available in pink, purple, and black. You too can be the girl of the moment in this little number, while walking on a beach–or perhaps a stolen moment on a run way. Okay, okay, I admit that run way was a board walk and the photographers were only people taking family photos. Hey, I had my fifteen minutes of fame by photo bombing that lovely family. They’ll never forget me or my sexy hot dress.

How could anyone forget me in these vibrant colors? I love bright colors because they truly do remind me of happy times in the summer. Although I’m under the weather, a dress like this one reminds me that there are happy summer memories to be made–when I’m feeling better. It gives me a bit of hope and joy.

Being able to dream of a day in the sun and frolicking is one of the best parts of a virtual world. Despite whatever malady or rough time may be going on in real life, there’s always a bit of fun to be had inworld. One of my closest friends even googled things to make me feel better. So even in your pjs, you can look hot and be surrounded by good people. You just can’t beat that.

Mermaids are walking on land?

Well this pretend mermaid is certainly walking on land. I was only able to do this because of the help of Collabor88. Their theme was Under the Sea for this month, which is where I bought this beautiful dress. I was able to walk around on land and found this gorgeous forest for the day.

Lately, the grid has been taken over by the beach it seems. It’s those wonderful dog days of summer that are inspiring designers to create accessories and clothing for the beach. I think everyone has beach vacations and fun in the sun on the brain. I know that I sure do!

When ever I think about summer, my mind immediately goes to the best mermaid under the sea–my friend Kira. Some have seen this woman and  her moody persona walking around. Be fore warned, she is more bark than bite, but she gets a little moody when she’s been out of the water for too long.

Kira and I went shopping to find the greatest water inspired wares that we could find. Collabor 88 didn’t disappoint us. We picked up a few items and immediately started to make outfits. As always, we wanted to take a moment and catalog our newest purchases, so we headed off to the prettiest forest with our new found legs.

In that forest, I gained some new skills. I’ve always been working towards improving my pictures, which means taking advice from residents on how to improve those pictures. Kira has served as a mentor to me for as long as I can remember. It was in this forest that I finally learned how to use depth of field. I feel like this picture should come with one of those window stickers that warn of a new driver, but instead should read beware first time with depth of field. It can make a girl really nervous to put herself out there, but at the same time it’s quite exciting. A big thank you to Kira for teaching me how to grow in my photography skills.

I hope that you grow in whatever intrigues you in SL–be it role play, pictures, scripts or builds. Never forget to thank the residents who help you along the way. They are the ones who help to make our inspirations a reality.

Who wants to be the belle of the …..HAIR FAIR?

I certainly wanted to be the belle of the hair fair, but alas there are many beauties in SL–inside and out. I attended this year’s hair fair with glee. I look forward to this event all year. It’s literally my Christmas in July. I get giddy and joyful over virtual hair. It sounds silly, but everyone needs something to look forward to and sometimes it truly is the simple things in life.

I highly recommend checking out the hair fair. I stock up for the winter so to speak and have a blast doing it–while in good company. Many of the designers did not disappoint. My pockets were completely empty this round. It truly is an event worth going to.

Now, it’s time to give you a little bit of information. The hair fair is actually broken up into many different sims, so sometimes you have to wait to get into sections of it. It may be a good idea to wear simple clothing with a limited amount of scripts to reduce lag. And…..patience is a necessity for this event, but completely worth it in my opinion.

Unfortunately, there is a lack of hair for men at this event. I wish there were more options for those beautiful male avi’s. What,,,, I like to look at those beautiful male and female avatars. I don’t discriminate. Any way, I’m going to hold out my hope for someone that loves GQ and get inspired to make some luscious locks for me to admire. I mean for me to appreciate. Oh damn, never mind, I just have hope for the men out there.

Before I left the hair fair, my good friend Kira and I had a fan girl moment. We were about to leave, when we spotted the ever gorgeous and talented Mrs. Strawberry Singh. She’s a well known blogger whose known for her meme challenges and beautiful photos. I even had the pleasure of having her take my photograph long ago. Too shy, I didn’t IM her, because I could see that she was getting her hair fair on.

And finally, there are many, many, many events going on right now. The Wizarding Fair, and Collabor 88 are open and thriving. In the photo above, I have items from both events featured above. The Wizarding Fair is surely magical and Collabor 88 will be the muse to everything Under The Sea (hint ….hint…it’s this month’s theme). Many know that I am obsessed with owls, so I couldn’t pass up this owl necklace from Kibitz (Wizarding Fair) and this super cute dress is from Foxes (Collabor 88).

You may have noticed that my eyes are a little out of this world. I think it’s important to play with your look and …sometimes even your role play. For right now, I’m a fiery and mysterious creature…..well for now any ways. I hope you too can have a bit of fun shopping and changing up your look.
