Hope

This post was meant to be written ohhh about a week ago, but the holiday season took me by storm. Some may have seen me online, but alas I was probably wrapping a gift or baking a batch of cookies last minute–to help me get into that Christmas spirit.

I named this post hope, because despite all the bad in the world……I still have hope for a more peaceful world and a better New Year. I think hope is part of feeling festive this time of year–hope for the future, hope for ourselves, the planet, and for people in general. I will hold onto that feeling no matter how small–even a small lint of hope is enough to hold onto.

So today is the last day for Christmas on 34th street. I bought this lovely dress from that event–from Moon Amore. It’s one of my favorite places to get something cute and a little bit different. They have great clothes for photos or every day wear. Hopefully I can finish this post in time, but if not…..you can probably find these great finds at the main store in a few days time.

When I put this dress on, I had to add some white hair and go somewhere snowy. I felt like a princess transformed by the winter bliss of the beautiful cold snow. I felt inspired….so…thank you Moon Amore for being my muse. Sometimes clothes can really help to set the scene. Would you agree?

Unit next year……I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and try to stay safe. You could be the most important person in someone’s future. You never know who you’re supposed to be until you get there. So drink responsibly, be a designated driver, stop someone from drinking too much….you never know who will thank you for it.

Happy Holidays

 

It’s that time of year again. Cookies are baking. Cards are being sent. Gifts need wrapping. So many of us are running around trying to get things done. I am no exception this holiday season. My blog is slowing down, but for very good reason. I hope that others take a moment to pause and enjoy life–for life is meant to be enjoyed.

This year has been a whirl wind for me. I’ve gone through so many changes. I’ve learned quite a bit about myself. I’ve even gained a reader or two during this journey of second life blogging. I am very thankful for those who read and like my blog. It inspires me and keeps me going. So a big thank you to my readers and followers on flickr.

I’ve had a very difficult time trying to get in the spirit of the holidays, but don’t fret I have hope. There is hope for humanity and peace. I recently watched a movie that said “human dignity plus compassion equal peace”. I could not agree more. It is important to give all of those in our path human dignity and compassion–for we all need a bit of peace in our lives.

Don’t simply send those gives in the mail, or through an IM….think about the person receiving it. It’s important to know the light you give someone makes a difference. I know that for me it does.

My dear friend Kira showed up at my house with these lovely reindeer antlers and it lifted my spirits so I had to get a pair for myself.  You can find them at one of my favorite stores–Izzie’s.

I also found this really cute dress at Collabor88–along with this lovely hair from Tableau Vivant. I paired this outfit with a vest from Foxes–and it is one of my favorites this holiday season. You should definitely stop by Collabor88 for some great finds.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. I hope light and love shine in all of your lives. I’ll try to smile for my friends. Thank you Matzu for your wonderful blog reminding me to do so. I sure will try.

Apocalyptic Princess

 

I got caught up in the holiday season. And by holidays, I mean shopping. Okay, okay, it means more than shopping, but it is part of the fun. The grid offers plenty of opportunities to spend some money–and I spent some money. After spending my lindens, I looked at my haul and had the biggest task–coming up with an inspiration for my photo.

When I went through all of the items that I bought, I realized there was a common theme–Pink. It’s not surprising that everything was in the same color scheme, since it’s my favorite color after all. I looked at each item and wondered what could be my inspiration with a pink gas mask.

After a lot of thought, I came up with the princess type character whose always saved. Then, it made me realize of course she would have a gas mask in pink. I embodied the apocalyptic princess–and this was the end result. I strayed from my normal pictures to do something a bit different because of some wise advice from a dear friend.

Speaking of stepping out of my comfort zone, you will probably notice that my skin is a bit different from my previous pictures–and my face looks different too. In my last blog, I talked about the freedom to change your look day by day. I enjoy playing with my clothes and skin. To some people, it’s a bit taboo to change your look, but I embrace it. I didn’t stop with changing my skin though.

A friend of mine got me into the Catwa heads. So I marched myself over to the Catwa store and checked out their mesh heads for myself. I’ve seen them on other people and wanted to see it for myself. I ended up with the Annie head. You can’t really see it in this photo, but I suspect you will in the future. I’ve also reverted back to my Glam Affair skin, but that will probably change too–as I like to change it up a bit. Glam affair has one skin for Catwa and it’s available on the marketplace. Sometimes you have to go all over to get a makeover

Now where, did I get the rest of my fabulous outfit you ask? I’ve been all over trying to make this outfit just right. I’ve been to The Arcade Gacha, FaMESHed, and We ❤ role play. The mask is from We ❤ role play. The hair is from The Arcade. Finally, the coat dress came from FaMeshed. I also want to mention my eyes are from #Adored. I love their products. They are superb with detail. You can find them at her main store–a good reason to check out it out;). You never know when you’ll find a gem.

Alone At Night

 

Ahhh the holidays have entered the building, which means late nights. After doing some holiday shopping at the arcade, I decided to get a little comfortable and put on a tank top–and a pair of briefs.

I found this lovely set at this month’s Uber. The theme is androgyny. While being androgynous isn’t my forte, there are definitely times where certain pieces will catch my eye. The set from erratic definitely made an impression. I had to purchase it.

My briefs are sold in a pack of 3 different colors and my tanks also come in three different colors. The textures on both have a lot of detail. You can see the ribbing of the tank top and the smoothness of the fabric on the briefs. The colors are also very vibrant on both. My tank came in pink, white, and mint. My briefs came in a pack with black, navy and olive. It’s always nice to get clothing in a pack, because you can choose the color that suits your mood.

Despite my love of shopping, I haven’t done much of it as of late, because I’ve been setting up for the holidays.  My time has been spent trimming the tree and hanging stockings around my fire place.

Now on to the Arcade Gacha. It just opened up yesterday. If you can get past the teleport, it’s worth checking out. If you’re in the midst of feeling a bit jolly, it’s a perfect place to shop–maybe even pick up a few gifts.

Now, I hate talking about my real life. However sometimes you can’t help it. I’m going in for some medical things this holiday season and my blogging may be a little sporadic. Don’t worry about me though. I will be just fine. My blog should resume as normal around January. But if everything goes better than expected, I’ll be around :-p
