Wishing for Spring

I’m always dreaming of warmer days. Maybe that’s why I love coming to SL. I can always find a beach to fulfill my deepest desires–to feel the warmth of the sunshine. I long for a hazy day at the beach. Since my warmer days seem so far away, I did the next best thing. I found a beach to take a picture with my latest finds from Uber.

Speaking of Uber, I bought this wonderful dress there. It’s from Paper Arrow and it’s called Confetti. I really love this dress because of all the detail. The company also provided customers with a hud to change the color of the top–which I absolutely love. In the hud, there are 20 different options to choose from! You can really change the overall feel of the dress by a simple click of the mouse. I really love this dress and I hope you do too.

Now on to one of my favorite things to talk about, I’m talking about hair. My good friend Kira spotted someone wearing hair that she just had to have. She did the sneaky thing of inspecting it. I am so glad she’s nosy. We teleported to a store called the Lovey Dovey Hair store. I found this great hair called Merula. It will surely become an important staple in my hair wardrobe.

Finally, I found myself in DeeTalez. Recently, they released lipstick appliers for the Catwa mesh heads. I love makeup and I am so excited to see lipstick for the Catwa head. So if you have a Catwa head, I suggest checking them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Steampunk-ed

 

 

I adore steampunk. I have a place for it in my heart. However, my post comes with this heavy disclaimer. I don’t know much about it–other than its style surrounds Victorian, industrial, and modern day twist. So forgive me, I may make a mistake. I may not know what I’m talking about….and by all means correct me–if I am wrong. I will not cry. I promise.

The reason I chose steampunk is because I really adored the clothes on pinterest. They are different and interesting. I’ve been inspired by those types of clothes for a very long time. It captures the eye. It’s not something you see in a big box store. So since I started second life, I wanted to do a steampunk inspired blog post.

Now, I even went so far as to Wikipedia it. I can hear you groaning–so correct me if I’m wrong. It said Jim Butcher (a fun author) has written steampunk genre novels. I was a big fan of the Dresden series. I also read the Time Machine a few times–and that’s considered steampunk. I can still remember my middle school days in class reading that book with some of my closest friends–even to this day–but I digress.

It’s time to talk about the clothes and where I got them. I bought the goggles at The Limited event. They’re from Tabou–spiked goggles. I like The Limited, because the items are well…limited.  It’s nice to get something that not everyone will have. Then, I was lucky with a gacha at the epiphany and won the bollero, pasties, belt, and corset by FDD Stories. The hair is from Doe. It was from a previous round of N21, but sometimes you can find the gachas in their main store. The pose is from ZZANG. I believe there store inworld is no longer available, but they still sell their poses on the marketplace. So you too have a chance to wear this lovely outfit.

Bad Kitty

Okay, so this is my second attempt at writing this post. I meant to post it last night, but alas my computer decided to restart itself with updates–without notice. As with life, sometimes you just have to start all over and chalk it up to a learning experience. Note to self, when you finish a post, you should always save it as a draft.

Now onto the good stuff, recently I went to Collabor88 and romp. The theme for this month’s Collabor88 is holographic. They don’t disappoint with their metallic inspired and flashy designs. It’s fun and different. I spent some good linden at that event. Then there was Romp, which always has fun yet naughty wears that residents seem to enjoy.

At Collabor88, I found this wonderful skirt and top by Tres Blah. I chose the outfit on purpose because the skirt is appropriately named holographic–suiting for this month’s theme. It has a very nice texture to the skirt, which is bright and metallic. The tee shirt is called knotted tee, which comes in solid colors–as well as graphic designs.

Another designer to see at Collabor88 is Ison. I can not go on and on enough about their creations for this month’s latest round. Theses shoes are amazing and will become one of my main staples. You can not miss this event. I will be wearing everything by Ison quite a bit–purse, shoes, and that dress. I’m swooning over all of it. Of course, it is not featured here, but the shoes are. You definitely need to go with a friend and go shopping. You won’t be disappointed.

Then, I found this wonderful hair by one of my favorite hair designers–Spellbound. It’s called Kitten. You can find these amazing pigtails at Romp. The hair comes with the mask/ear combo, and it can be detached. You get to choose the style from a bit flirty to a bit naughty–whatever you desire. I added a paddle and I decided to chew some gum to make the outfit a bit more flirty. Between the paddle and the ears, I couldn’t help myself. I had to name it bad kitty.

Since, the holidays are over the grid is bopping with events and new wares. For all you gacha lovers out there, epiphany just opened. There are definitely some fun items there. You can also visit Project Limited, which houses select designs in limited supply–to assure your originality on the grid.

Woodland Pixie

 

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a great start to the new year! One of my favorite movies is Hope Floats, and there’s a great quote in it about life. “Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts.” Once you get past the scary beginning, I hope the middle of the year has all the good things in life.

Now on to my picture, it’s  a little bit different from what I usually post. I’m crying, and wearing a hair accessory. My hair is white. Is this a trend? Why is she out in a fall setting right after the holidays? I will probably go back to black hair or change it. My hair color changes with the wind sometimes. For right now, I want to be a little different.

I went to the chapter 4 event, which I usually don’t buy anything there. However, I saw this head accessory from Lode. It’s called Iris and available as a gacha. I took a chance and won it in yellow, but yellow really isn’t my favorite color. So I tried again. I was lucky and won it in red. I have many, many, many hair accessories from Lode. They always do an amazing job. I have to tip my hat to them for always making me feel pretty.

Speaking of pretty, I walked over to see this half pulled up hair from Pr!tty. It was adorable. So I tried my luck again with a gacha and I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t usually like white hair, but this really makes my skin pop.

As soon as I put the hair and accessory on, it reminded me of a woodland fairy. I found this wonderful autumn sim called Pandora Box of Dreams. I put on a dress, which was hidden in the back of my closet and headed over to my new found sim.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit blue. There are times in everyone’s life that are difficult–where nothing goes right. I  was having one of those moments. So I let my life be seen in art–which I rarely ever do. Despite all of that, I still have hope that things will get better. So I decided to make it light around me–with very happy colors.

I hope you all get a chance to visit the Chapter 4. There are some great finds this round. And remember, if you’re having a tough time, it will pass. Now, I really should take my own advice.
