I’m late with this post, but I have a good reason. But who wants to hear my excuses? I mentioned in a previous post about medical stuff, so just give me a little bit of time. I’ll be back to normal in awhile. I’m not there yet. Any way I would rather just talk about all the fun inworld things. I’ve been all over the grid buying things, but I just couldn’t help myself. There’s a lot of good stuff out there right now.

I have my own little Uber haul this month. My arm chains, dress, hair, and even my dune buggy are from Uber. So as you can see, I really did buy a lot of merchandise. I have to say this has to be one of my favorites in a long time.

I also went to the cosmetic fair. I want to take credit for discovering a company called Studio Exposure, but I can’t. Kira found this makeup at the cosmetic fair. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth every penny. I have been looking for a light lip gloss forever. This is perfect. It’s a limited edition pretty girl lip gloss and eyeshadow. It’s sold separately and priced at 600 linden. I know that seems like a lot, but it’s so completely worth it. If it’s a little too much money, I suggest stopping by their main store. The owner has lipstick, lip gloss, and eyeshadow for around 200 linden. This is an up and coming company. I have very high hopes for them. I’m impressed and…..completely gushing.

Now, I have two things in second life that I horde–animals and vehicles. Sadly, I never include them in my blogs. I really need to start doing so. The amount of animals that I have is so incredibly shameful, but I just can’t help buying cute little fluffy things. I adore them in all worlds, but I have much more restraint in my real life than in second life. Whew…okay… I need to get back on topic.

So I saw this dune buggy on flickr. I knew right away that it would end up in my inventory. I love driving vehicles around on my land. I spend a lot of time there. It’s something that makes me incredibly happy. I have flying brooms, cars, golf carts, hover boards, and now a dune buggy. The dune buggy can be found at this month’s Uber from Kalopsia. So you may see me on a sim that allows rezzing things with this latest edition to my inventory.

Okay, what are you still doing here? Get out there and have some fun already. Go grab a friend, lover, spouse, dog, cat, rabbit……oh hell just go shopping already.

After the senseless tragedy in Orland and a couple of moody posts, I thought it was time for something a little bit brighter. I think a lot of people need to watch a few cute animal videos and listen to some fun music. Who doesn’t need a bit of cheer from time to time? So many things make me happy. One of my favorite past times is shopping–in all worlds.

BUT, before I get into shopping details, I want to talk about Purse First. This song is sung by Bob The Drag Queen who starred on a show called RuPaul’s Drag Race. My fishy mermaid friend told me about it. Then, she promptly said, you are watching this show with me. I gave it a try and became addicted. Now, I’m on amazon binge watching previous seasons to keep up with her chatter about contestants.

Before meeting my good friend Kira, I didn’t really know anything about Drag Queens, the culture, or much about it. My lack of knowledge did not last long though. I was quickly filled in and in the know. I’m so thankful for the education. In my own world, I’m a self proclaimed makeup addict. I also happen to like anything that sparkles or has glitter. So it makes total sense that I would become addicted to it. Here’s a little of background information about the show.

RuPaul is a Drag Queen who holds a contest for America’s next Drag Queen superstar. Contestants have to compete against each other trying to win the title and some posh prizes. Contestants sing, act, dance, and strut on the runway with their handmade or purchased couture. They are all judged on performance and outfits. Be warned though, two queens have to sing for their life at the end of the episode to stay in the competition.

As with any competition, there’s one person standing at the end as the winner. And last season, Bob The Drag Queen won. One of his prizes was starring in and singing– Purse First . My fishy friend was addicted to this song. She referenced it every where. I knew it was only a matter of time until my own photo shoot of Purse First was around the corner.

Yesterday was THE day, Kira and I created our own photo inspired by the song. I sat back as Kira took over the set building. She pointed; I rezzed things. She moved a few things around. Then, voila, we had a set! I can’t take the credit for the set, but I did buy this dress before her. She saw it on me and then had to have it. We were back at Kustom9 in search for a dress….speaking of shopping.

This wonderful dress can be bought there. It’s by ::villena: and called the Halter Sweater Dress. I paired it with my trusty sunglasses and some hair by Little Bones–called Luna. Now, I’m all ready for a night on the town.

I highly recommend Kustom9 this round. It was surprisingly good. I bought a few things and a good laugh with a dear friend. All in all, there are brighter days ahead. If you’re finding yourself a bit low and down, I also recommend RuPaul’s Drag Race. It always brightens my day a bit.

Love

A gun man went into a gay night club called Pulse in Orlando, Florida and selfishly took the lives of many. Their stories have been shared on social media. Their images have touched, angered, and upset me–like so many others.

Even though there is outrage, I think it’s important to come together to remember those lives taken too soon. I hope this image reminds people to take a moment of silence, hold vigils, talk to others who differ from yourself,  and tell someone who is LGBTQ that they are loved and cared for. I also hope each person takes a minute of silence–#OrlandoUnited.

My heart is heavy like so many others right now.   However, despite everything that has transpired, I still have hope. As stated in the quote above, we have to move forward with hope and not backward by fear and division.This is the time to come together.

Roman Holiday

Ohhh how I have a holiday on my mind, but that’s not why I named this Roman Holiday. I was actually listening to Halsey and I like her song. I admit that I had to look up the definition of a Roman Holiday. I just had holidays and vacation on the brain. I wouldn’t delight in others suffering (part of the actual definition). But I digress. Lets talk a little bit about the quote above this post.

I have always believed that loving someone means to really accept them in their entirety. I spend a lot of time thinking about this very statement. So many residents share portions of themselves in blog snippets or pictures. We make friends with these people around us and some even get to experience this kind of friendship. I’ve been very lucky to have such friends in my second life who truly “get” me and accept me. I know that is special in any world.

Speaking of friends, I have to give credit to Kira for styling this outfit. She did a fabulous job. I stole it and I had to blog it (with her permission of course). In this post, I celebrate friendship and holidays–all the good things in life. Of course, I’m also celebrating a little bit of shopping in there too. I went to this month’s Collabor88 and picked up this fantastic bathing suit from Erratic. I picked up this hair from Exile, which is also at Collabor88. Then, I stopped by The Arcade Gacha and won this wonderful nose chain, bindi, and tear drop from Aisling. I’ve had such a wonderful time shopping and spending time with my friends. It truly was like a little holiday.

I hate sharing my real life in almost all capacities, but I kind of have to. My blog may not be consistent in the month of June due to health problems. I’m going in to my surgeon’s office to get a procedure done in a few weeks. It hurts, but it’s totally worth it. I’ll be better in a little while. I do apologize. I’ll try to keep up to the best of my abilities, but forgive me if I miss a week.

Old Ways

I am awful at joining the dance. Lately, in my second life, I’ve had to accept a bunch of changes–and my real life too. I hate change. I have a really difficult time joining the dance. It spins me out of control and I end up throwing my shoes instead. Then, I promptly run out of the dance with all the kids refusing to change. But even with those groups of kids, they do indeed change.

I bring about the subject of change, because it has been on my mind. Everything around me is changing. I need to join the dance, but I’m too busy rebelling against it. Maybe in time, I will.

It all started a few weeks ago. I have lived at the same sim for a very long time. Then one day, I got a message saying that the sim changed owners. They were moving residents and tier needed to be paid. Many people left that sim–myself included. Our tier was lost. Many had to find new land to call home. I hate change and that was not easy. My sl and friends were also changing a bit too. It was change over load for me.

I started to reflect on everything that had happened up to that point in my second life. I had a lot happen at that old land–some things good, some things bad. I was in quiet reflection. Last weeks blog reflected thoughts dancing around in my brain. I just had to forgive myself for my own mistakes.

I’m forever learning to join the dance of change, but I still get a little rebellious and fling my shoes in the face of change. I always hope the good parts stay the same, but good times can be fleeting. I see many say second life is fleeting. Life is fleeting. It is forever changing and forever evolving–inworld and otherwise.Over time, we learn to live with it.

I’m briefly going to discuss my outfit. I bought this outfit at the latest Cosmopolitan. The bustier, shorts, and shirt are by Asteria. When I saw this outfit, it reminded me of something Beyonce would wear–or maybe Lady Gaga, so  had to get it. I also bought the new hair from LeLutka called Clarice. Okay, that’s all for now.
