Love

“At the end of the day, we must go forward with hope and not backward by fear and division.”  Jesse Jackson

A gun man went into a gay night club called Pulse in Orlando, Florida and selfishly took the lives of many. Their stories have been shared on social media. Their images have touched, angered, and upset me–like so many others.

Even though there is outrage, I think it’s important to come together to remember those lives taken too soon. I hope this image reminds people to take a moment of silence, hold vigils, talk to others who differ from yourself,  and tell someone who is LGBTQ that they are loved and cared for. I also hope each person takes a minute of silence–#OrlandoUnited.

My heart is heavy like so many others right now.   However, despite everything that has transpired, I still have hope. As stated in the quote above, we have to move forward with hope and not backward by fear and division. This is the time to come together.

One way people have come together is by donating to victims, which I have included down below.

I would also like to thank Matzu for sharing this link originally. I shamelessly stole this from his page.

As always be good to one another.

Cheers

  1. Beautifully said, Violet! I just peeked at the fund page again and my heart is so full of gratitude at seeing the number almost at $5 million. Such an outpouring of love and support! This really gives me hope that we’re moving in the right direction. ♥

    • Thank you Ever. It’s a tragedy what happened. My heart was so sad. However, I know that one bad man does not equate to all of humanity being evil. It’s hard to remember that sometimes. However, when I see the funds raised for the victims, it gives me a bit of hope too. I agree that it’s a step in the right direction. ❤
