Stars In Her Eyes

blog coming soon

Hello my fellow shopping addicts! This blog is a bit late. I’m really sorry about that. I have so much to talk about in this blog post. So first, let me begin by saying, I’m finally about to get that dreaded medical procedure. I know…I know. I was supposed to have it last month, but things didn’t go as planned. As of right now, everything is scheduled for next week. So I may not be around too much in the blogging world next week. I’ll need a little bit of down time to laugh at funny animations inworld and to catch up on the latest Netflixs sensation–and sleep of course. I’ll throw in some TLC and I’ll be good to go.

I tend to be a bit of a private person in all of my worlds and I don’t always share my real life struggles. For me in second life, I think it’s important to be a bit pretend. It’s not to harm people. I like to role play a happy and healthy person. Going through doctors appointments and chronic pain has been a bit of a personal struggle. However, every six months, I go in to see my surgeon and get some things done to give me quality of life. It hurts for about a week. But….I start to feel really good after the initial pain of everything. As a result of the wait, my presence online has been a bit touch and go. I’ll log on and go do something as simple as getting water–then boom, I’m asleep on the couch. Please forgive me, if I step away and seem to go afk.

The reason that I decided to share some of my real life is because of the Hair Fair. Before ever getting hurt, I never knew the feeling of being stared at for something out of my control. Then one day, I got hurt. It changed my entire life. As a result of that injury, I dealt with stares in public. I knew that people wanted to know what was wrong. I’m young, but at times I needed assistance walking–or even a chair to help get around. I deal with social anxiety and I struggled with those stares. Kids may go through those same emotions, when feeling a bit different from everyone.

You can help a child avoid some of the stares and lessen social anxiety by purchasing hair at the Hair Fair. It supports wigs for kids. You give children more than just a wig, when you buy that awesome hair. You give them a moment without a stare or maybe a moment free of social anxiety. I know, because I speak from experience. I can relate.

This event has become one of my favorites. I love it for everything it does. The designers come together and make these wonderful creations. I applaud them for contributing to a cause and making pretty mesh things for residents to wear. You get to help others and look gorgeous, while doing it.

Despite the pain of it all, I found solace in shopping on the grid this past month. As you can imagine, shopping in sl is so important to me. It boosts my morale. I smile. I get excited. I genuinely look forward to events. I can shop and walk for a really long time, if I want to! It makes me happy, even after I log off. Speaking of all those pretty things I buy…..

Let me take a moment to discuss all of the wonderful items in my picture. The hair featured above is from LeLutka at the Hair fair. My shorts, jacket, and boots can be found at the epiphany from Zenith. The fabulous tongue with a heart is at this month’s latest round at Uber by [CX]. Speaking of [CX], I had a moment to thank the creator for making this wonderful tongue. He truly cares about his customers.

I’ve had a tough time in my real life lately with pain, but on the grid has been a wonderful experience. It’s really hard for me to open up and talk about the impact of health issues. I would rather role play a scene at a beach, a bike ride, or have a social gathering with a ton of laughter–or a rp that makes me feel hot and sexy (not always easy to feel that way, when you hurt). All of those little sl moments help me get through those really tough parts.

You never know how your role play may help get someone through their rl day. So thank you to all of my wonderful friends for being a support system. Thank you designers for giving this girl a moment to just be kind of normal and healthy.

Be kind to one another!

Cheers,

Violet XOXO
