Maybe we’re all searching for one little bird to teach us how to dance. I’ve had many little birds in my lifetime teach me how to sing. If I never had little birds to sing a tiny song to me and show me the tune, I may never be here typing up this blog.

As I look through the many people who look at my pictures and like them, I can’t help but feel extreme gratitude. I’m thankful people like my work enough to look at it. I’m even more thankful that people like it.

When I started blogging, I never intended to have as many followers as I do, but I am very thankful that I do. I’m still learning and still growing in this little world of ours. Photography in second life has become really important to me over the last few months. I put energy into my pictures at a time when I wasn’t sure how many more I would take. That’s the thing, when you want to walk away from something, sometimes you end up being given a reason not to. I’m glad to still be taking some fun pictures.

As you can see, I’m still here and I continue to take pictures. While trying to learn about photoshop, I came across a man that was really helpful in learning the tools. I’d like to share his link with everyone. Maybe he can help those who are just starting out. He helped me to learn how to use a few things so far. Helpful Photoshop Tutorials So, if you feel a little lost in sl, I highly recommend diving into an sl hobby, because you never know where that hobby will take you.

Finally, to take those beautiful pictures, I always head to my local events. This month, I went to Uber and picked up this really gorgeous outfit from Mossu. I have to say that I love it!! Whew, I’ve had a whirl wind week. I’ve done a lot of stuff inworld and in real life. Both have kept me pretty busy these days, which is probably a really good thing. Sometimes you have to go to that place to mellow out and get lost, so you can face the days and challenges ahead. I’ve been doing a bit lately. I’ve gone back to places in real life that bring me comfort with people that I have literally known for half my life. I’ve also been letting people help me, even when I really don’t want it. So I’ve been able to relax. We all need lazy days to recharge our batteries and refuel our gas tank.

Unfortunately, when you get kind of busy in all worlds, sometimes people can feel left out or ignored, no matter how unintentional it is. I’m really sorry for being a bit busy. I’ve been looking for a house in my real life and I am also working on my blog–and the Squeeze! magazine issue. So my life can be a little hectic at times. I have been leaving on my autoresponse. I do it sometimes to do things inworld that allow me to have a necessary moment to recollect myself. We all need a breather from time to time.

To let my hair down, I took this great picture. I am wearing this wonderful outfit by Eliavah, which is now available at the epiphany. This round was pretty fantastic. BEFORE I FORGET!!! Side note, I really hope more designers for men’s fashion and miscellaneous join in the fun. I feel they don’t get the representation at events, which is so desperately lacking at times. As a blogger, I can tell you have a mix of masculine and feminine items not only recognizes the males inworld. It gives bloggers an array of things to choose from to also make out pictures interesting. I’d love a campaign …Don’t leave out the dudes!!! Come on people ….lets make something for the gentlemen of SL.

Days

Sometimes, we don’t have the best of days. It seems like a lot of my friends have come down with colds or just don’t feel well in general. And I myself sort of fall into this category. When I wasn’t feeling well, I found this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Even on a crummy day, there’s always something about trying to maintain a positive attitude that helps. Unfortunately, I’m not the best at keeping a positive view of things. I knew that he was right though. You can’t drown in the bad. Sometimes you have to wake up the next day and start over. Hopefully, my fatigue and pain will give me a break, but I still had a pretty good day.

Speaking of breaks, I took one inworld and I headed over to The Season Story. A friend of mine created an awesome jacket above. It comes in different styles of materials such as shiny, and hologram. There are so many colors available for purchase. This particular texture is only available in the fatpack, but all of her jackets are amazing. I have been falling in love with her products and I know you will too.  Again it’s from The Season Story by Eliavah called Dooboo sweater. I also bought the lipstick from mudskin called Woo hee. I can see this as one of my go to lipsticks. Finally, I tried my luck at the Pink Lion gacha for my nail polish and it’s name is humorously called Liars. The two quotes above, I couldn’t agree with more. For me fantasy gives me an opportunity for self expression. It’s also nice to keep that playfulness of imagination. Andy Warhol was right. We do need fantasy. We need to escape, give us strength, and to let our mind wander and wonder. Nights with some of my favorite fictional characters make an appearance in my second life photos. The land of fairies definitely inspired this picture.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. It’s nice to read the comments on a picture and see the story in the eyes of another. I had a wonderful person congratulate me on my capture. When I look at this picture, I see an unrestrained mythical beast laying at my feet, while I give light to our surroundings. BUT, it’s the best part of fantasy. It’s the interpretation in which we see through the words and imagery before us–much like second life.

You see, for some, the stories are important parts of their experience in second life. We could be anything that we want to be here.So if you need to live in a soft world for a day, you should find that mythical soft spot and soak it up like a sponge. I did, when I took this photo. It’s everything that I enjoy in second life. Remember the impossible can become possible here. We just have to discover it.

Resolutions

I hope everyone had a really happy holiday and a good start to the New Year. It’s always nice to visit family and friends this time of year, but I also really like just being home and in my own bed. The holidays rolled through just as quickly as the Christmas music rolled into the stores. I’m sad that the visits are done, the presents are unwrapped, and only crumbs remain of the cookies, but I’m glad to get back to blogging and taking pictures too.

This next year will have its own ups and downs. Some I know are ahead of me and some I don’t. Those ups and downs though help to create the person that I am today. I am not the same person that I was a year ago. I’m not going to be the same person, six months from now. Life is truly about growth. I’ve done a lot of it in the last year. And I’ll continue to grow.

This is the time to think about our future. In February–March (if not earlier), I will undergo a Fulkerson Osteotomy. Some of my friends inworld have been privy to this information. I wouldn’t mention it, but I will be taking a break from sl to have it done (a week or so, until the initial pain dies down a bit). It’s a painful surgery with a long recovery. Meaning, I’ll probably be spending some of that time here. I did get sick over Christmas break over medication. Since that day, I’ve thought about this post and whether or not to discuss it. I don’t want it to come as a shock. I appreciate all the well wishes and kind thoughts. It means a lot to me.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m scared. I’m nervous. And my only New Year’s resolution is to kick ass in physical therapy and gain some movement back, along with pain reduction. I’m a tough cookie.When that date comes, I will inform my followers and sponsors about it. I didn’t want it to come as a surprise. As you can imagine, I’ve dreaded this year. But I have a support system that will help me get through the rough parts, and even second life tends to let my mind wander to other things, which is always a welcome distraction.

Part of the ways I get my mind off things is to go to Uber every month. I walk around and enjoy my shopping trip. My hair, necklace, dress, and even my jacket can be found at this months Uber. If you’re interested in my outfit, please check out my details below.
