Old School

I came across this quote today and I thought it said everything…..everything that I have felt in the last six months. Sometimes you just get tired of hiding. Sometimes you want to love the people around you because you realize how precious time can be. I think we spend our entire lives learning to embrace the person we are….the person who stares back at us in that mirror. I also believe every person carries with them something that makes them sad. But, Sam Smith is so right. Sadness is everything. The sadness can inspire us to be better. The emotion of sadness can serve so many purposes in our every day lives. Just recently, I told someone this, “Without hardship, there would be no compassion.” We all have a journey of hardship or sadness. It differs from person to person, but it’s there. So we just have to love each other harder….to mend those pieces–whatever they may be.

I’m going to make mistakes. It’s the only guarantee in life. We will fail. We will fall, but it’s what we do with those mistakes that matter. As I sit here, I think back to when I was a high school student. And oh the mistakes I made and lets not talk about fashion. Shivers. Some mistakes gave me some really great memories. I wouldn’t have done much differently in those old school days.

During that journey, I remember pop culture. There are just those things that scream back in the day and fond memories. One of those memories includes watching the breakfast club for the first time. I felt like… I could relate, being surrounded by people so different from myself, but forming a bond with those people who were so different. To this day, it’s one of my favorite memories–my friends back then.

So, I was thrilled when I heard an event was inspired by this movie. I immediately went shopping and gathered everything that I could. I really adore this event and I bought many items that I plan on using in the future. My credits this time around will be a little longer than usual, but I want to talk about all of the stores that are apart of this event. Demons

So I know that spring is all about new beginnings. this past week seems like everyone was about to give me one–whether I like it or not. The magazine that I work on is coming to an end….among other endings inworld. It has been a very somber week inworld for me with so many endings. I love working with companies that will have me. I enjoy the work and the challenges at times. They push my creative limits. Despite the endings in second life, I will be stepping into a new chapter in my real life. I’M MOVING!! That’s right, I’m getting my first home. I’m very excited.

As you can imagine, I’ll probably be away for a few days in the near future. Fret not, it shouldn’t take me long. It’s not a huge move. I’m not going very far. I’ll be up and running again shortly, before you know it. ♥

Now, onto second life, my entire world is changing yet again inworld. There are new beginnings for me in store. I always believe that when one door closes another one will open. Despite everything sort of coming to a close, I know that life moves on and changes are inevitable. The only guarantee in life is change. You can fight it, which …..does no one any good or you can roll with the punches. I’m learning how to roll with the punches in all worlds. And in a way, I’m ready for some changes.

Speaking of changes, there are some events that are starting to pop up along the grid. One of those events is Lootbox. They have some wonderful items from well known companies. Nani and Eliavah paired up for this event. Let me talk about the event for just a moment, Lootbox is a gacha event, so you try your luck with every pull. I won this beautiful outfit which includes, the mask, scarf, body suit, and Kimono are available. The kimono is one of the rares available. You should definitely try your luck at this month’s round of lootbox. if you like the outfit featured above, please check out my credits.

Finally, I chose this quote, because I think a lot about inner demons. This quote made me realize that inner demons are part of us. Sometimes we overcome them and sometimes we live with them. You can’t have light without darkness. They both make up a whole person. And that’s my food for thought.

Step Into The Light

Spring is right around the corner and you can feel it all around second life. The grid has been blooming with flowers, along with outfits that scream warmth. I’m so glad too, because I am ready for winter to be over with. Although, my allergies in real life would have to disagree about flowers blooming. The lighter colors and brighter decor definitely has an effect on my mood and maybe others to.

One of the events helping to bring spring to the forefront is Collabor88. There’s so many wonderful items this round. it’s incredibly easy to go broke. There are still items that I plan on purchasing before the month is over with. From the vines that climb the wall to flower pots on the floor, there is definitely a feel of new life being breathed into the grid. So with a flower in my hair, I slipped into this gorgeous dress. It makes me long for the days sipping lemonade outside with the wind in my hair at one of my favorite restaurants with outdoor seating.

I highly recommend this round at Collabor88. It’s one of my favorite events. I can never gush enough. But with the sunny disposition of all the items available, it is sure to lift the spirits of everyone. And hopefully this blogger can see past the sniffles and see the ray of light at the end of the winter tunnel.

Deep into the Blue

Sometimes we find light in the most unsuspecting places. This week was wrought with getting kicked out of the skin fair due to too many scripts to huds not working properly. And I think there’s a bear roaming around my sl grounds. Nevertheless, in a world of naughtiness and wickedness, there are times when little lights beam bright, even in the digital world that has been created.

Even with all the technical issues, I found a ray of light in the creative guru’s of sl that make all those pretty skins for the Skin Fair, and various items at The Arcade. I fought off the too many script errors and walked around as a ghost, to find the latest faces available to residents. I also took a trip down a board walk to play a few slot machines. I didn’t come empty hand, after leaving these two events. I spent my lindens and my wallet gave a very loud groan, but I was a vision in red with a whole new look.

First, lets talk about skin…. I went to my favorite skin store–DeeTalez at the skin fair. There were limited options for those who have LeLutka heads, but I found this skin called Maria. I have to say that I really love it. I like the softness of the overall skin. It’s almost innocent looking. And I really enjoy pairing an innocent look with things that aren’t so innocent, which makes life a bit interesting.

To help me with that not so innocent look, I went to the arcade and found one of my favorite gacha machines, Birdy. I won this body suit. I was also gifted this incredible jacket by complete surprise, the rare from Birdy. THANK YOU!!!! I have to say that was one of the best parts of my day, getting a surprise completely out of the blue. The Arcade has so many things from food, furniture, clothes, dolls, and even…..backdrops. The one featured in this picture is from Foxcity. I also won this item, at the arcade. It always remains one of my favorite events on the grid.

Finally, I needed a new hair styles, so I headed over to The Darkness Event. I found this hair by Doux called Leto. I’m in love with the style. Even though I love the style, I wish the part was a little more defined. It cuts into my scalp a little, but it’s still a beautiful style nevertheless. I highly recommend all of these events. But it’s time for me to go and put some of my haul into the proper folders.

I’ve been shopping quite a bit in second life lately. There are so many wonderful events happening across the grid. My poor pocket book groaned today. I’m sure. I’ve been to Kinky, Uber, and the arcade, so you are sure to hear back from soon with all my goodies in tow.

My first stop was uber. This round is fantastic with all the designers letting the mod fashions and trends of the past come to life. I found this lovely outfit from David Heather at Uber a few days ago and I absolutely adore it. I had this backdrop in my inventory and I was watching a music video. I was inspired. So I came up with this great idea for my picture. I hope others like it as much as I do. This round is not one to be missed!!! For more information, please check my credits down below.

Finally, I picked this quote because it’s a good reminder that even with success, you still have to keep going and failure doesn’t kill you. Continuing to persevere, despite those failures, …well it’s there that we find strength in ourselves. You have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off. We have to go on!!
