This blog is much later than I ever intended. But it’s not due to a lack of effort. This one photo has a ton of things from events. I’m so excited about this one little photo. My feet really did hit the pavement.

Before I get into all the glorious shopping details, I want to talk a little bit about this quote and the name of the picture. I found this quote which touched a chord with me–especially right now. My whole world relies on me bouncing back and being resilient. Pain will ebb and flow. Sometimes you just have to do what you can on the good days. I thought about resilience, after having a truly difficult week with pain. I’ve always been one to say that I was in pain, but never really how that pain made me feel.

Bouncing back and not focusing on the bad days is so important. I’ve learned that yesterday may have been awful, but today can be better. You can’t focus on yesterday’s pain, when there’s a life to live today. My train of thought really brought me to the concept of resilience. Many of us have had to be resilient to stay strong in a virtual world. Many people bounce back from heart ache, failure, and criticism. There’s a resilience in bouncing back from those things. It’s definitely a skill.

I haven’t been the most resilient person sometimes. I’ve had trouble bouncing back from life’s bumps in the road–which goes for second life too. But in the end, I had the ability to overcome. Life doesn’t really give you a choice. Life is also mean and it will give you that lesson over and over again of resilience–with the rocky path that is life.

Speaking of rocky paths, I picked the picture to represent the world because of so many things. I’m a little touchy when it comes to prosthetics portrayed in second life. Any time I’ve portrayed myself with a piece of me that’s artificial like an arm or leg, I go through something emotionally. It’s more truth in that one picture. It’s one window. One peak to a mask lifted. I don’t normally run around inworld with a prosthetic anything for this reason. BUT.. if there was ever a reason to do it… it was the signs in the universe and this really hard week.

I’m scheduled to have a knee surgery in the very near future. My mother is disabled from a knee surgery that refused to heal correctly. It’s not something that I have told others about. I’m nervous and scared for so many reasons. However, seeing that prosthetic painted beautifully was a hopeful sign. Despite increased difficulty, it gives me hope that something hard can be beautiful in the end. Since this picture represents a big part of my world, there was no other arcana card in the tarot deck suited for this pic—other than the world. This is my world. These are my fears. This is the cause for such emotional upheaval. But you know what… it’s still beautiful–scars and all.

Now to create that beautiful reflection, I went to several events. My skirt came from the Dubai Event. It’s by Legal Insanity and called the Anna skirt. My head piece came from LODE and it’s from shiny shabby. My shirt is from Kustom9 by E.Marie. My legs are from N21 and by DRD. One quick note, I was really hoping to see pashminas, rugs, and jewelry…gold at the Dubai event. I’m hoping to see these items. I have a few pashminas in real life from the middle east and I love them. I hope to buy a couple inworld soon. 😛

The Lovers

I know it’s early for another blog, but what can I say? There’s so much good stuff out right now. I just had to do another post…… you know to validate all my shopping. Seriously, the grid has been hopping with events. It’s a little late in the evening… very late, so this post will be a little short.

Some may have noticed links to music, I include them because music is part of blogging for me. It’s insanely relaxing to blog with music…and I like sharing. I have been on a very big hip hop/R&B kick for the last week or so. In the area that I grew up in, this genre of music was really popular. And I’ve been spending time in real life with some long time friends. We busted out the music and partied with BBQ, one very sunny day. This song reminds me of that weekend.

Now, for my title, it’s still my tarot card series. This picture is inspired by the lovers card. I was also inspired by….cough..cough…cough… The Red Light District event—-not to mention a few other events. But, I have to mention those events, because they were so good. I’m just going to blabber away where everything is from because there are so many of them.

To begin, my shorts are from Eliavah. I found them at equal10, which is a fairly new event. I’ve been to it a few times and I have to say it. I kind of love it. So definitely go to Equal10 and check out Eliavah’s merchandise. Just Because created this tube top with an option of having a ruffle or without, which was perfect for this outfit. The shoes are from Vale Koer which is now out along with the tube top at Collabor88. Now moving along to the male model, he is wearing an outfit by Gabriel at TMD, to include the shirt and pants. His necklace is from Real Evil Industries. I’ve never heard of this company, until now, it’s called Zoom, which created his glasses. His hair is from Doux. It’s called Troy and now on sale at Man Cave.

And finally, the furniture is next. The bed is on sale at The Red Light District and it’s by Krescendo. The lights are from Ariskea and the chair is by second spaces. You can find the chair, and lights at Collabor88–and my tube top. Last, but certainly not least, my backdrop came from a new company called House of Shade, which is working with foxcity. Speaking of which, my pose is from Foxcity.  I highly recommend every item, and event listed.

Finally..finally finally, this quote is so meaningful to me. I agree so completely. Love. I could say a lot of things about love, but I do need to end this blog in a reasonable amount of time. For me, it shapes my entire world. My whole reason for being here is to love. Love gives us life, honey. And without it, there would be a world of darkness. It’s wonderful to give and receive love in all its lovely forms. So love each other harder. And if you hate someone, love them enough not to do harm. Love is a wonderful emotion and it makes the world go round.

The Moon

I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Romp. This round is pretty great. However, I do wish that more clothes and items were geared towards men. But I’m always wanting more items for men. Girls have all the fun. It’s so not fair. I know …I know.. I know, but you’re a girl!! So? I still want options for everyone to enjoy. 🙂

Anyway, I chose this quote because I totally agree with it. I think the most seductive people seem to be those who have no idea. It’s always the way! There’s something so alluring about a mask, and a neon dark lit room. I know that it just screams seduction or at least it does for me.

Now onto the title of this post, the moon is another major arcana card in the Tarot deck. It’s a card that I get a lot, in readings. It represents hidden facts, jealousy, deception. This card is connected to the night. I always think seduction happens at night—why…. I have no idea. But anyway, that’s enough about this card, lets talk about Romp.

Every time I go to Romp, I always find items that make me feel a bit hawt. The bed, corset, cuffs, and shoes are all from this wonderful event. This is definitely one of my favorite outfits. And it came from this event. breathe created my shoes. My corset was a collaboration between Altair and [CX]. The bed is by Dictatorship and it’s called contempo. I really do like this company. They do run on the expensive side, but some of my favorite furniture comes from this company. The bed in the picture is currently available at Romp.

Speaking of pictures, I felt very inspired by Nicki Minaj and her videos for this one. I think they are insanely creative, so there are links to some of her music with this post. I love taking pictures and listening to music. I think music and art go hand in hand. It adds to my creativity and sets a mood for the pictures. I had a lot of fun creating this picture.

I thoroughly enjoy taking pictures. I would never be able to take these photos without the help of the designers who spend hours of learning how to make their creations. Thank you so much for allowing me to be creative. Without you, my photos would not exist. I really do appreciate all of their hard work. So a big thank you!!

Also, to change the subject a bit, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!! I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday.

Death

I love this quote. I’ve had a  lot of run ins and accidents. I mean… Who hasn’t? We all endure some type of accident in life. It really is what we take away from them. I also believe there is no such thing as accidents, because everything happens for a reason. I have to believe that needing surgery…. is for a reason. And in the virtual world, I have to believe everything happens for a reason. It’s all a journey.

Speaking of journey, I named this blog post Death because it is one of the major arcana in Tarot Cards. The death card isn’t really about death though. It’s about change. If you think about it, you have to let something die out to change. You have to make way for rebirth. With death and rebirth, you learn a lot along the way.

I chose this picture to represent death is because of the skulls on the bike. Skulls have been used as a symbol for death–so I too am using them for that reason ♥. With death (change) and accidents, they occur for a reason–to grow, learn, mature, and move forward with that new knowledge….. like I should never be allowed to drive a motorcycle. With new knowledge comes wisdom.

While I’m talking about new  knowledge, It wouldn’t be right to not include the credits of this outfit. So here we go. Look no further than this month’s round at Uber.  My body suit comes from Foxes and my helmet is from Astralia. The motorcycle is from Sau. There is a color hud for the helmet and the bike. The theme this month was definitely everything motorcycle. It’s not my usual style, but sometimes it’s nice to change it up. Strength

I really believe in this quote. As I sit here, knowing that the next few months will be a little scary, I know that it will make me stronger in the end. It’s quotes like these that give me hope for the future, despite any hardship that will come in my path.

Speaking of strength, it became the name of this blog, but the name for the blog definitely has a story behind it. For months, I’ve been toying with the idea of making second life pictures with the inspiration from the major Arcana in a tarot card deck. I think it’s appropriate to start with this particular card, because of where I am in life. I’m learning to be strong, to balance life, and to face fear straight ahead. It’s not easy being strong, especially if you’re scared. But it takes strength and courage to go into the unknown. Health issues deal with being strong and being courageous, so I had to go out of order and start with this particular card.

Sometimes we find strength in ourselves and sometimes we find it through other people to get us through the rough spots. People can give us hope. They can make a dim room seem bright. People are a big part in becoming strong. We don’t gain strength by going at it alone and it’s not always about showing people the best parts of ourselves. Strength comes in so many forms. Sometimes in second life, we find our strength in this virtual world, but the alternative is also true. You have to be strong enough to face the criticism or harsh words……or even self doubt in this virtual space. It takes strength to face the hard words of others and still put your best face forward, despite it all. Second life will test you but then again so will life. It will put your strength to the test. You have to be pretty strong to get through life without losing yourself. So my message to residents… stay strong in whatever fears or tribulations that you face. You will get through it.

So I took my strong self exploring and found this little nook. I snapped a pic with a gorgeous dress from Addams. It’s actually a mainstore release. I hardly ever blog mainstore releases, but I really adore this dress. I just had to blog it. It is just so pretty and delicate. Then, I headed over to the Chapter four and played the Lode machine until I won these two items. on my head. Note, this prior round of the Chapter Four is closed, but you can usually find previous releases at their mainstore, so I would check the Lode mainstore for the head piece (I linked the slurl down below in my credits).  I adore this outfit. It makes me feel so delicate. There’s something to be said for having strength while also being delicate.
