Wheel of Fortune

So I’ve been feeling a little lost lately. It’s easy to feel like that, when so many things change all at once. It led me to the Wheel of Fortune card in the tarot deck. Feeling lost leads to finding yourself sometimes. So it’s whatever is in your cards in the future. Fate plays a hand in your wheel of fortune. Which leads me to my next topic…. getting caught up with my blog… It was all fate…

Playing catch up with blogging and trying to heal isn’t always the easiest. And I know eventually, I will be all caught up. But for now, I have to apologize for this post being a little late. I am very sorry. BUT … we must continue on and discuss shopping.

This month’s round of Uber is INSANE. I bought a lot of things from uber. My dress, shoes, and coat rack are all available at this event. Vinyl created this wonderful whimsical dress. Eudora3D made my wonderful shoes. Finally, dust bunny created this fantastic coat rack. I am really smitten with these items. I think many others will be too. When I put them all together, I could feel the crisp air floating around me. I knew fall was literally at my door step.

BUT, I didn’t just feel the love of fall at Uber. I also felt it at Hair Fair. Eliavah created this wonderful ponytail with tendrils hanging down on one side of the head. This hair does include versions with the tendrils down the left or right side. This hair makes me want to grab a hot chocolate and sit wrapped in a blanket on the porch. Finally, the pumpkin sign and barrels came from brocante. It was available for 50L. Unfortunately, it is available, but at full price.

When I created this picture, I had every intention of blogging it on Friday, but my health prevented me from blogging this photo. Again, I am sorry this photo is a little late. I will say that all the fall creations have me excited for the seasons changing. I hope you get in the spirit of fall and visit Hair Fair–and Uber. As I sit here groggy and typing up this blogs, I thought about life and what I want to contribute to it—with my blogging platform. I have a responsibility to try and contribute to kindness, compassion, joy, and laughter with this blog. I’ve always believed that people who speak in a public setting have this responsibility. And really…. we all need to laugh sometimes. It’s part of the reason that I find uplifting, inspiring, and thoughtful quotes from people who are wise. I’ve read in many profiles the question of why people quote others. And I can only answer for myself. I quote others who lived through harder things in life. I quote those smarter than me or more compassionate. Not only to put a positive thought out into the world, but also to remind me too. Sometimes when you’re going through the hard stuff in any world, it’s nice to read inspirational words to remind you that humanity does exist.

Speaking of humanity and compassion, it leads me right into the event that just opened. HAIR FAIR!!! It remains one of my favorite events on the grid. I always find new hair that I like and I always find some company that I’ve never bought from–which you will see in a future blog post. I love this event because it supports a wonderful cause. Designers always produce some amazing hair. I really enjoyed wandering around Hair Fair. In the next few blogs, you will be seeing a few of my favorite hairs on sale….even in this post! My hair is from Clawtooth and I adore it! I hope you will too!

I also included a few items from Collabor88. You will definitely have to hurry, if you want either the decor or the clothes. My shoes are from GOS. My dress is from Le Fil Casse. The decor is all from collabor88–the backdrop, lamp, room divider, frame, and pink flower. You’ll have to hurry, if you want any of these items though because collabor88 has only a little bit of time left. The new round opens on the 8th of October. You’ll have to hurry for those last few important items.

Seasons Change

I’ve been trying to catch up with my blog posts. While catching up with my blog posts, I’ve gone through a few really tough moments in both words. It’s hard sometimes to play catch up in any world. Also, when you’re not at your strongest, it seems like the world can see that moment of weakness and play upon it. I hate to think people do that in any world, but I know people do. So in the midst of frustration over playing catch up, I found this quote.

Sometimes you’re going to fail, or be rejected. It’s really hard not to take it personally. Either you body will fail to do what it’s supposed to do. Or maybe you get rejected from a potential job, or even relationship. It’s so incredibly easy to lash out. It’s easy to get angry and upset. It may even be our first reaction to the situation. BUT, the best thing a person can do is vent… get it out of your system to someone you trust. Then, move on emotionally, look at the situation critically and analyze your actions. Can I change my behavior so this doesn’t happen again? Can I look at this situation as a learning experience?

I believe that every experience a person has can ultimately teach us something about ourselves. I’ve seen time and time again people lash out on social media, get angry, and total lose their cool. No matter what happens to you…. no matter what is said to you, no matter what is done to you, there is one thing that will always save you and that is yourself. How you react to any given situation can either doom you or can save you in the future. You get rejected. Thank them for the opportunity and walk away. No good ever comes from lashing out. I once read a Joan Rivers book and she gave me the best advice that I’ve ever received. Don’t get mad or seek revenge on someone in a business situation, because you never know when that person will be your boss one day or vice versus.

I bring all of this up because I’ve had a lot of time to think about failure and rejection. I’ve even dealt with failure and rejection. It’s never fun to deal with those issues but they are always teachable moments. Maybe we have them to humble us. It may even be the match that lights the fire. It drives us to work harder, be more, and push us. I don’t look at failure or rejection as a personal attack on me or my work. I look at it as a learning experience… a chance to improve. When you look at a situation in a different light, the situation changes. A negative can become a positive.

In the past month, I’ve had to go through a huge emotional upheaval. I think all residents can relate to going through things either in second life or real life that plagues the mind. You get this one moment or quote that makes a person stop in their tracks. I had to look at my health and not focus on the difficult road in front of me–future surgeries, physical therapy, and pain. I could focus on all that hardship and focus on it. OR I can look at how it will shape me to be a better person. I can look at everything as an opportunity to feel better. If I spend all my time focusing on the negative, I miss out enjoying all the good parts of life. So perception is everything… How our view of what happens to us or around us impacts our life and even the people around us.

So I don’t want people to fear the winds of change. I don’t want to fear change myself. Rather I’m taking the journey of change…humbled and thankful. I know this blog post is more reflection than blog, but it’s a reminder to me and maybe to others too… keep your chin up and work hard. You will get to where you want to be or destined to be, just keep trying and moving along. You WILL get there. Also if you must seek revenge, I take the advice from beyonce… work harder my friends. I have never regretted working harder…ever. And when possible, work smarter…not harder. That’s it for my wise words of wisdom. And when I say work harder, I don’t mean taking on too many commitments. I mean..take something you love to do and hone your skills. Do something that you enjoy and work hard at it. You will get personal joy and growth over time.

Finally, I’m going to talk about my blog. There are a ton of items featured by events. My shoes are from Cosmopolitan by Utopia@Design. My shirt if from Eliavah and available at the fabulous… Au Lovely event (I would not miss this event). I keep going back and buying things. Also my pants are from the ever fashionable Ison and available at one of my favorite events..Collabor88. I also bought the leaves and dog at Kustom9. The dog is from Black Bantam. The leaves were purchased at Kustom9 from [anc}. The two chairs are from Fri. and sold at Collabor88. The bunnies and squirrels with books are available at The Arcade. The door, pictures, and decor on the stool are from Collabor88. As you can see, there are many many many items from various events. Shopping is wonderful right now and there is no better way to bring in autumn than with a new do, nice clothes, and some fresh furniture. Hey, I had to get a dog in there too. I do love my animals. Hair Fair 2018 – Join Demo Group

The Star

This quote is absolutely perfect right now, since I’m doing just that….healing. Naturally this brought me to the star card in the major arcana, which is all about hope and healing. I just had surgery this past week and I am still recovering. My blogs may be a little short because I have to finish my blogs in shifts lol. I have to take time to rest in between setting up a set, decorating, buying outfits, and taking the picture/editing. BUT I have planned this photo for the past week and I am so excited to share it with everyone.

I am back to blogging, but very slowly. This past week has been stressful and tough. It has tested my every fiber of my being, but I will survive. I have a long journey ahead of me, but it has been the outpouring of love and care from residents that I want to talk about for a second. I would like to thank everyone who has messaged me and sent me very loving and wonderful messages of hope and well wishes. They truly got me through some of the hardest things this past week and continue to do so.

To help me get my mind off things, I made two quick trips. I made one trip to the arcade, before surgery. And after, I went to Collabor88, one of my favorite events on the grid. My entire outfit is from collabor88….even the skybox. There are a few finishing touches that came from the arcade–the violin, cake, and mannequin. I had a blast making this outfit and I hope you like it too. If you want to know where to get any of the items featured in the above picture, please look down below at my credits.

This picture is based off  of beyonce’s and Jay Z, The Carters latest music video which was shot at the Louvre. I have always loved France. And I have always wanted to visit. When I saw this backdrop, I knew pieces of art and a fashion forward outfit had to be made. It was so much fun to put this concept together. But now it’s time for me to rest. My next blog will be about Au lovely and I can’t wait to discuss this event. Off I go…

Story Behind The Picture–I thought we would a Fiesta with all of my favorite foods. I never intended the brawl that broke out or my friend’s demise at the end. Alisha can’t hold her liquor, drinking away watching two very intoxicated boys fighting over her. It’s such a sad state of affairs. I didn’t expect a smelly end to my fiesta. There’s always next year!

I woke up happy today. I have every reason to wake up happy. It’s my birthday in about 30 minutes. I LOVE birthdays. I love everything about birthdays. You are literally celebrating life. I wasn’t always like that though. I didn’t always love birthdays. I dreaded them years ago. Now, I embrace them, because it means that I lived. I made it to another one. Some people don’t make it to their next. So it should be celebrated. So I have made my plans and I have things to look forward to. Some may think it’s odd that I planned surgery so close to my own birthday. I didn’t want to waste time dreading it. I’ve spent enough time dreading it. I’d rather have fun…also it helps. Things aren’t so scary, when you have people around you who care about you. Maybe you’re about to go through something scary or know someone who’s going through a difficult time, the best thing you can do is love them.

Birthdays really are a feather in the broad wing of time. It’s just one day in the broad spectrum of many days down the road, but it’s also a celebration of the days that have passed too. I like celebrating them, but I also like making people feel special on their day too. It’s just a special time. It’s the perfect to love and be loved, which we all need in this big huge world of ours. I wanted to do a blog post inspired by birthdays.

So when I saw Uber’s theme for this month’s round, I KNEW that a birthday party gone wrong had to be done. It had to be! If I can make you laugh with this picture, I have done my job. I laughed so much taking this photo. Funny pictures have to be one of my favorite things to take and edit. Also there are so so so many products in this picture. I really can’t gush enough about this last round. The tables, the fence (backdrop), the clothes, over half of the items in this photo are from uber. Hair Fair 2018 – VIP Early Access RAFFLE – starts 3rd September

 

 

Prize: The two winners each day will win Early Access entry to Hair Fair 2018 for themselves and one friend. Prizes cannot be traded, so you and your friend must be available on 21st September 2018. There will be 10 drawings, and the tickets will be emptied each time, so come back every day to keep trying until you win!

Over the years in the lead up to Hair Fair, we ran a photography contest to win prizes and the most coveted early access to Hair Fair. This year we decided to bring everyone back into Second Life itself. The plan is to get people amped up and excited for Hair Fair by visiting different Hair stores all over the grid, and entering the first Hair Fair VIP Early Access Raffle.

 

 

 

 

 

To enter is a two-teleport process:

1. teleport to one of the stores listed below click the ticket dispenser (as shown) and get a folder containing a ticket a landmark, and info notecard
2. teleport using that landmark, wear the ticket and click the entry terminal. If you happen to get distracted by wonderful hair and items on the way, well that is just more fun for you.

At the end of each Second Life day, we will list two winners on this website and a new draw will commence. You can enter a new draw each day just teleport to a different store, grab a new raffle ticket, wear it, teleport using the landmark and submit your entry at the raffle machine. It is that easy! Just remember you cannot use tickets more than once, and you cannot get a new ticket from a store you previously visited.

Hair Fair opens September 22nd, so save up those lindens for a a really great cause–wigs for kids. This still remains to be one of my favorite events. It is not an event to be missed. ♥♥♥

I found this really great quote and I think it’s important to remember your own strength in the world, but it also relates to the hierophant in the major arcana of the tarot deck. The Hierophant represents following the rules and finding a spiritual perspective on your current situation. I think that remembering your inner strength and what you can accomplish is a good rule to have. Sometimes that takes a little work to realize your own worth. You are strong. You are smart and you are capable of so much. I really believe that no matter who you are… you have a lot of purposes in this world and we are all strong. It doesn’t always refer to physical strength; It comes in many forms…. okay moving right along

Last week, I mentioned taking time off for surgery. I never realized that my sponsors may worry about prior commitments. I’d like to reassure any events that I promised to cover that.. I will indeed be able to cover those events. This leads me to feeling a little obligated to share some information about surgery–specifically when it is. It’s on the 10th of September. I will not go into details. it’s not life threatening. I should be away for a few days. I will be inworld, but my time will very much depend on how I am feeling, especially that first week. BUT I will be able to cover the events that I signed up with. I was going to take a month off but I realize now that this is not feasible due to prior commitments. I’d like to take a minute to thank sponsors and the hard working people who create the events inworld. I know you all work so incredibly hard to make what second life is today. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. It means the world to me. And thank you for everything that you do.

Moving right along,in the above photo, I went to Uber and bought this really pretty dress. It’s by Tee*fy and called Ava dress. I also stopped by the chapter four and picked up the latest hair piece from Lode and it’s named Geranium crown in red. It is one of the rare items offered. Sorry my blog post is a little late for the chapter four, but you will be able to purchase it via the mp. My hair is from little bones and called justice. You’ll have to hurry though, because collabor88 is only open for a few more days, before the next round begins.

In addition to all all the things from Uber and collabor88, I bought a new head and made a new shape. Some of you may notice that I look a little different. I bought the new Genus’s head and skin. I really do love this head and new skin. The mesh head is gorgeous, but it did take me some time to get use to the hud. I also know there are a few bugs being worked on. Some people have had issues with the eyes moving around and not staying in place. The hud does take time to rez and there is a noticeable line on the neck. Despite the quirks, there are some really great options like oily skin, wet skin, glam skin, glow skin, pores, and wrinkles. It comes with eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, tattoos, blush, eyelashes options, three different hairbases, and two eyebrow options. freckles, moles, braces, vampire teeth…. Whew, basically, there are a ton of options with this head. I want to make a note here. The oily skin, wet skin, glam skin, and glow skin show up in the ultra settings. It took me a little while to figure that out. Strawberry Singh also created a really helpful how to video, which I’ll link here. I had to reference it a few times to understand the layout of the hud. I’ve been using Lelutka forever. It is still in beta and costs 3,000L, but the price will raise to 5,500L once released.

Over all, I really do like this head. I like that it has options that no other bento heads have featured before. I’m sure there are options that I’ve forgotten to include. I’ve always believed that bento heads are geared towards preference. I like this head, but fear not… I am still going to be wearing my lelutka head. Speaking of Lelutka, they created a hud called axis, and I’d like to write a blog post about it. So in the future, you will see me wear both of these heads, because I really do like both of them. Before I end this blog post, I want to talk about a few things. As a blogger, I don’t always get things free from every event. I do spend money inworld. Blogging is a passion of mine. I enjoy the creativity and the ability to express myself. However, I would not be able to do that without the support of the designers and creators. They spend hours behind their computers creating. I’ve tried 3D programs and I wasn’t the greatest with it, so yeah I respect people who do this work–because I can’t :D. Also I believe in supporting designers and creators. I also believe in not wearing myself thin by taking on too much. I want to love what I do and I know that means not agreeing to too much. This will be my passion and my mission is to keep it that way.  I will come back ASAP to fulfill my obligations to sponsors and events. Thank you for sticking with me and believing in me.
