Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died. Steven Wright

In the last few months, I’ve been using tarot cards as inspiration for my photos. So when  I made my second life Halloween inspired land… I knew that a table with tarot cards was a requirement. It has come full circle with this latest picture.

 It’s such a joy to wrap up my last series of photos up with this picture. I’m a bit of a tarot card reader. It’s something that I do for friends and family. So I wanted to take that real life interest and let that be my muse. I really love this outfit. I didn’t win this wonderful dress by candy doll at the Epiphany, but I did buy it from the marketplace. However, I did win the gorgeous wings from Candy doll’s set at the epiphany. I just had to have the dress, so I bought it. Moving right along, Zenith makes really gorgeous masks, available at Collabor88. I always get a little excited seeing a mask made by them. I know it will be stunning. When I saw this dress, I knew right away that it would pair nicely with this mask. The hair is by exile and is also available at collabor88. It’s a really great style and just down right cute. Alisha is wearing the rare hat from shadenfreude available at the Arcade. The dress and stockings are from canimal, Her hair is from doux.

Finally, a lot of the decor came from Collabor88. UnKindness created this really great furniture set to include the cabinets, books, and moon statue. The candy on the floor is from the wonderful ++half deer+…. a creator that makes the cutest things. My wallet is always handed over to this company, happily might I add. All the other items will be listed in the credits section, down below.

I know this blog post is a little short. This week has not been kind to me. Normally, I would write up a long blog post, but I need to take care of myself a bit today. But don’t you fret….. I’ll be back to semi normal in a bit.

As I sit here writing this blog, I’m thinking of all the things that scare people. I’m scared to do a lot of things, but I can’t let the fear win. Second life can be like that too. Sometimes doing things that scare you will give you the most satisfaction–maybe it’s taking pictures, starting a business, or as simple as talking to people. Life in general can be a bit scary. However, if we don’t do things that scare us, then we deny ourselves the opportunity to live. Second life is just like that… If you don’t try the things that scare you, then you’ll never fully live.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the cost of fear. It’s a truly high price. It stops us. It denies us experiences. It’s that feeling of facing a wall, even though you have the tools to take it down. It stops that thought of being capable.

After surgery, I was scared and frightened. I began to move and again fear took over, literally stopping me from taking a step. It’s such a simple thing, yet it became the size of a mountain. It took my breathe away. Thoughts raced through my head of all the what if’s. But in the end, I took a step. It scared me, but I did. Second life has it’s own wall of fears that so many people battle. And sometimes, you just have to take a step toward whatever scares you. Taking that first step over fear is huge. I encourage people to be brave and take that first action. It may just lead you to a path that you were meant to take.

Moving along to my picture and the discussion of fear. I wanted to portray an image of dancing, having fun, and living in the face of something scary. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there, despite whatever negative feeling is stopping you. Feel the fear. Don’t let it win. Fight it. And in the end you will know more about yourself.

If you want to dance with some friendly skeletons (which is a little scary), all you have to do is stick with me for a little longer. My gorgeous outfit is from the Eliavah gacha, which is available at the epiphany. I really really rally like this outfit. So I recommend it highly. In the last month, I’ve had nothing but appreciation for the people around me in both worlds. A friend who gives me more time for things inworld, when pain rules the day. A friend that remembers my birthday and does something sweet for me out of the blue inworld. She selflessly gave a gift to a stranger. A friend who dances with me virtually, which brings a smile to my face. Or even a special person that makes me laugh on the hardest of days. Those people … I may not know everything about them and it’s okay not to know everything about them. It’s the kindness in them that I see. I can see their heart and spirit in their being, for me that’s a huge deal. Healing isn’t just medications and physical therapy. Healing can be how we treat one another in times that are hard physically, emotionally, or financially. A smile and helping hand can do so much for someone. Real life brings pain and truly hard days. Grueling days are ahead of me. I will be tested, but it’s nice to log into a space where my spirit is lifted. And this is a thank you and a word of appreciation for all that you do for this stranger. I wouldn’t know what I would do with out you all.

In the spirit of appreciation, I want to share another message. I’ve heard lots of people who don’t give themselves enough credit, thinking they are important. That’s the thing about life, you are important. When you help someone in even the smallest way (opening a door for someone for example), you are important. Your spirit, laughter, friendship, kindness are all important to the world. A person doesn’t have to be bigger than life to be important. Even in a virtual space,, you’re important to others. And also, people will make mistakes, but people are not defined by their mistakes. It’s more important what you do after the mistake was made. We are all on a journey in this life and there will be speed bumps. It’s learning how to ride over them that matters most, and appreciating the people who help you get over those little road blocks.

And one more thing before diving into this month’s shopping. I heard a quote that really hit a chord with me. If you worry about all the bad things, you deny yourself the ability to enjoy all the good things. You miss out on the good that happens around you. It’s really true. Of course, there are going to be bad, awful, and horrible days, but we have to notice the good that surrounds us. For me, it’s the kindness that others have shown me in the past month. My heart would not be as full without you. So thank you to all the friends inworld who have shown me kindness, when I needed it most. ♥

Okay, now I can talk about the fun stuff. Pose Fair is still going on, so if you haven’t picked up some great poses, please head over there. A great friend and creative pose maker created this pose called Thrills pose pack. It’s by Cuca Design. The creator is a dear friend of mine. She just happens to be a really great pose creator. I hope you enjoy her poses, just as much as I do. Next we have my top from Mossu, which I love and adore. It pairs beautifully with the skirt from The Secret Store. The top and skirt are both available at Collabor88. You will have to hurry though, since there’s not much time left. Finally, my boots are a new marketplace release from Utopia@Design. I am a little obsessed with her boots. I can’t lie. I really recommend this designer. The attention to detail is fabulous. The building in the picture is by Nomad and I really really really like this rotunda. It’s probably going to stay up awhile on my land. It was the perfect addition to my creepy graveyard. Finally, lets talk hair, I absolutely love this hair by besom and it’s available at kustom9. I can’t recommend these events enough. I adore them.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

It’s time to talk a little bit about all of the events sweeping the grid. Eliavah made this absolutely adorable outfit. It’s available at The Season’s Story. I do not want to take it off. It’s so warm and cozy.. and cute. Well, I love it, as you can see. I highly recommend it. I think this may be my go to fall outfit. My shoes are by Utopia@Design and available at Fameshed. I paired them with a pair of heart tights from Izzie’s. Then finally, I added some fabulous hair from Tableau Vivant, which is now available at The Event (arcade). And in closing, I want to make a quick mention of the sim that this photo was taken in. Mystic Timbers is holding a Halloween contest with some fantastic prizes. I’ve copied the notecard that’s available at the Mystic Timber’s entrance. You should definitely check it out.

A Mystical Halloween.

With halloween fast approaching we are planning a photo challenge on the Mystic Timbers sim, it will not be a competition, just an expression of work of things that go bump in the night.

At the end, a halloween party will take place, where the picture entrants will be drawn to win random prizes, so no matter what level of pictures you take, you stand the same chance as everyone who enters.

Rules : Simply pictures must be taken on the sim , and be halloween related.

DATE : 24th Sep until 24th October 2018
Draw will take place on Tuesday 30th October 12 Noon SLT. Where DJ Nitah will play, and the draw will be completed.

Skeleton In My Room

So this blog post is a little tongue and cheek. When I was younger, I LOVED horror movies. I always knew that if a couple in the beginning were cuddling and being all in love…. surely something wicked was going to happen to them. Most times, I was right too. So naturally, I wanted to do a picture depicting something a little funny and maybe a little sinister too.

Speaking of sinister, you will probably notice a lot of Halloween themed pictures this month. I really do enjoy Halloween. Sometimes if you can’t participate in the festivities for whatever reason in real life, second life plays a wonderful role in the celebration. So as such… I’ve been a busy bee decorating. Life can get a little hectic blogging and decorating at the same time. But I did it!

I’ve been pretty mellow inworld and keeping a little to myself. I’m still healing and sleeping a lot. There are chances of seeing me online and not really being online, as I am still recovering. So my blogs will be a little shorter than usual.

BUT, I can’t end this blog without talking about some note worthy events on the grid. I bought this fabulous bed at Fameshed, which is by DRD. I love DRD and I use them quite a bit in the month of October. They make some really awesome furniture and I can not gush about them enough. I highly recommend them for your ghoulish home. Now that wonderful skeleton is by Consignment. You can find this item at The Event which is tied to the arcade. There are a ton of gachas that are so perfect this month. I spent a bundle there and you will be seeing a few items from multiple designers. BUT that’s not all, I got this really great lingerie set by Cynful. It’s not a company that I blog often, but this set really is nice and I have not taken it off for a few days. I just love it. The lingerie set is available for purchase at this month’s round of Collabor88. My hair is by little bones and is called Umbra, and you can also find this wig at Collabor88. Finally, my pose is by CuCa Designs and you can find it at Pose Fair. It’s called bliss. I highly recommend her poses. She has some sensual poses and more risque poses, if that’s to your liking. So please check out pose fair, Fameshed, The Event, and Collabor88. All of these events have a little bit of something for everyone.

The Moon

She grew into her horns, never denying her inner most demons. Now shown to the world, her darkest parts. Her eyes glazed over, all color stripped away. Her eyes almost translucent. Being fearful of all her darkness consuming her, changing her, warping her outer exterior, She felt the air leave her lungs. The room becoming smaller. Her eyes widen watching the lights flowing out of her hands. A relief shown on her face, she knew light was part of her and she was more than just darkness. The witch had not won her being. She was still the same person despite all of her light shown to the world–both light and dark. Determined, she would not the let the darkness, evil, and inner demons win, even on all hollows eve.

“I am made of both light and darkness. I am more than the darkness that resides inside my soul.” And on she fights every day with her curse.

So as some may have noticed, I sometimes include a little story with my pictures. I’ve done that here. I felt so inspired by this picture, like a story was building along with my set. So I included one.

I’m not going to make this blog, since I’m still recovering a bit from surgery. But I want to say that Hair Fair is still going on strong. It ends this Sunday though, so you’ll have to hurry to get those last wigs. My hair is by Eliavah and available at hair fair. I really do like this hair. For my lelutka head, I had to wear the hour glass version and tweak my shape, but I did get it to fit. I’m really glad too, because this hair is super hawt. I’ll be wearing it again, that’s for sure. And I highly recommend this round. Salem is also insane. I bought so so so much stuff from this latest round. In the spirit of Tarot Cards Major Arcana, I am naming this post the moon. This card in the upright position can represent fear. What’s scarier than the things that go bump in the night and Halloween is all about the night of scares. So I thought this was the most appropriate name.

Okay just one quick note, my blog posts may be a bit short due my health, but I’m still around, just a bit brief.
