I have been really busy this past week in all worlds. I’ve taken pictures and built sets. And I finally get that moment to really sit down and think about this blog post. As soon as, I saw the backdrop from foxcity at Collabor88, I knew right away that I would make a dreamy post with sweet treats. So I really have looked forward to this post.

Normally on Valentine’s day, I send out photos ..a valentine’s day card. But this year, I indulged in sweet treats in real life, savoring each wonderful bite and I really did just enjoy the day. Instead, I opted for a delectable treats and a day of rest instead.

I love valentine’s day and wanted to do a month of sweet dreamy posts. I wanted to get lost in the moment of happiness. And maybe make a post inspired by legally blond. I love that movie. And I would be lying, if I said that movie wasn’t my muse. It totally was. There’s a scene where Elle Woods is sitting in her bed eating chocolate, after a break up. I think many people have gone through that upset. For some reason, second life seemed to curse a lot of my friends this past month. And that scene is one that always comes to mind, when I think of break ups–maybe because I’ve been there before. Who hasn’t?

This month has been nothing of love and hearts inworld for me personally, but in my dreams..and my pictures it was sweet sailing. So I let my love of all things sweet inspire me and a scene covered in pink–despite the sadness. I think even in that scene.. one can see the hope. Her friends coming to pull her out of her funk. Second life can be like that…so much. We go through a hard break with a friend, significant other, partner, etc, and we get Elle Woods in that moment. But it’s nice to see the hope through our friends.

What made my valentine’s day sweet inworld? It was my friends saying things that I needed to hear… not what I wanted to hear. It was the people who surrounded me in all things pink and reminded me that mistakes don’t define you. Anger is only temporary. And there are moments of calm. So maybe you have been touched by the second life Valentine’s Day curse. This post is for you my friend. I’m here to say, this too shall pass. Keep dreaming sweet things. Maybe indulge in something sweet in real life. If you can’t have that sweet treat in real life, maybe opt for something that you love to do instead. Whatever you do, just make sure to do something that makes you smile. And remember forgiveness is important, not for the other person, but for yourself. Holding on to anger and resentment only hurts us that much more in the end.

I came to the conclusion of what to write by a show called One Day At A Time. It’s about a Latino family living in Los Angeles, with all of its ups and downs of life. In one of the episodes, there was a woman struggling with anxiety. Recently, I’ve dealt with my own anxiety, during bad moments of pain. It can be scary and hard, especially when you can’t breath. But it was in that moment, I realized the importance of second life being a calm place. This isn’t a space where I want to be angry at anyone. My body makes me angry enough. This isn’t the place for it. And in that, I found forgiveness. I forgave anyone in that moment, because anger no longer served me. I can only hope that moment of clarity comes to others. It’s a gift. And if you seek a peaceful second life, it all starts within.

Before I end this blog post, I want to go into my fabulous outfit. My shirt, cardigan, skirt, and shoes are all by the fantastic Eliavah. She has really out done herself with this outfit. The texture and colors are so pretty. I felt soft and feminine. I just want to go out in the town and party the night away in this outfit. So I really wanted to write this post up earlier, but real life decided to steal me away. Sometimes real life has a way of soaking up your time. I’ve been had real life appointments and responsibilities. But I’m here now, so that’s the important thing. This blog will be a little short, since I am pressed for time.

In the wee hours of the morning, I was going talking about Valentine’s Day and my love for it. One of my favorite and few childhood memories came on this lovely day. When I was a kid, a teacher had a Valentine’s Day party. We put bags on the back of our chairs, people brought in food, and drinks. It was the very first time that anyone said that they had loved me–who wasn’t family. They had blond hair and wore a hearing aid. I was a kid. I remember  learning about it and what it meant to be going deaf. Since my Aunt was losing her hearing, I always wanted to know more. It was a card, a candy heart, and a simple I love you from a childhood classmate. To me…that’s Valentine’s Day and it has been ever since–not the flowers, expensive chocolates, or jewelry that the media would have you believe. It’s just love. And I have celebrated every type of love on that day–family, friends, and pets. I never limit it to a special someone. Love should always be celebrated.

That loving feeling inspired a pop up Pose Fair event. It ends soon though, you’ll have to run to that LM, if you want to get that last minute pose of love for that special someone. These two poses are by Cuca Designs. I have to say they are some really beautiful poses. I have a lot of love for them. Some of my favorite poses are couple poses. I love the ones that show those tender moments.  After the pose fair ends, both of these poses will be available in her mainstore. And I will share that link down below. In my photo with the blond, my lingerie is from Collabor88 by E.D. This month’s round is absolutely amazing with hearts, pink, and red. It really gets the grid in the mood to spread that love around. Before I close this blog, I want to touch on a subject that’s been bugging me. I had someone tell me that not every resident would get my blog, and I’ve let that one comment really bug me. While this is true, not every person will get my long ramblings about life, there will be some people who do. Since, there are people that I know who started to follow me because of my blog. I had that brief moment where I wanted to just scrap everything and hide. But I had to stay true to myself. Life lessons that apply in all worlds, inspirational quotes, and anecdotes about my life. It’s all relevant in my choices for second life. Never underestimate people. It’s something that I’ve learned from the virtual world. Also a very long time ago, I had a mentor tell me that when you write anything, you have to connect to the audience. In my experience, the best way I know how to connect with people is the human experience. It took some friends convincing me to keep going and keep doing what I love to do–which is to take pictures with my heart and match those pictures with words.

What we say can effect people. And even I forget how my words matter–negatively and positively. Sometimes we have to see past the opinions of others and do the things that make us happy–especially in second life. And I tend to be happy creating these blogs. I’ve had a pretty rough go at it, these past few months. One of the things that has made me happy, is the ability to log on and be creative. I get to think about things that make me happy–movies, music, and pictures. It’s those positive things that help me through difficult times. So if I let someone get to me, I let them ruin this, which is sad since it helps me in my real life. I’m writing this because I want to send the message that no matter what others think, never stop doing the activities that bring you joy. I leave you with this as my closing thought.

A Time To Be Thankful

I am incredibly thankful for a lot of things this year. One, I’m thankful that I’m here. I was watching a show called Lost Girl. There’s a line from a character who talks about how having life is so special. You have memories good, bad, and everything in between, but you have them. You have a chance to make them, no matter what you’re going through. No matter your hardship. You are living. I am living and that in itself is something to be grateful for. That one line changed me. Of course, I didn’t write the line word for word. it is paraphrased. It is definitely food for thought.

Then, I came across this quote. You open a door for someone. They respond with the common thank you. It is a sign of appreciation and respect in the act itself. It is the recognition of kindness being noticed. Showing others that they are thought of.. and appreciated is so incredibly special. Then you have the recognition of what someone else is doing for you. It’s always always always important to show others gratitude. It’s important to let them know that any act of kindness no matter how big or small is appreciated. It’s something that maybe is lacking–our outward appreciation of the positive actions done to us by others.

It’s Thanksgiving here. And I love reminding myself to tell people what they mean to me. It’s a practice that has given me a lot of meaning. It softens the soul, knowing that others care for each other. We are all meaningful and we are all important to others–even strangers. I rely a lot on strangers, family, and friends. There is no way that I couldn’t have all those people on my mind. Sometimes the people who have helped me the most in the last year has been complete strangers in my real life. People helping me into wheel chairs, opening doors, and helping me in any way they can. I’ve been helped by medical staff. I’ve been helped by friends who visit to raise my spirits. Even inworld, I see that same kindness. So I try to practice gratitude as often as I can. This year has definitely taught me that people help and aid others, even when they themselves are struggling and sometimes I am never aware of those struggles. I had a cancer patient open a door for me. There was no way that I could help her, other than show her my appreciation. The only thing she asked of me was to pay it forward to others. And I have every intention to do so.

So in the spirit of gratitude, I want to thank the designers and creators who work so incredibly hard to create these beautiful items featured in this photo. I want to start off with this fantastic dress. I can not gush enough about this dress. I love it… I really do. I think this may be one of my favorite dresses. I plan on wearing this again quite a bit. It’s just gorgeous and the detail is beautifully done. You can find it at Equal10 by Eliavah and it’s called Serenade. Lazy Morning

I’ve been quiet lately. And I’m a little late blogging this post. But, I had some living to do. It’s important to remember to enjoy moments and taking them in. Today is a snow filled lazy day. So here I am blogging away and enjoying the picturesque ambiance of silence in the snow. I generally hate snow, but I’ll take my lazy day. So like my day, my picture captures a quiet hopeful morning with breakfast in bed. Of course, I could never create such a picture without the help of designers and their amazing creations.

I’m going to jump right into the thick of it and talk about all those lovely events. Collabor88, Uber, Fameshed, and equal10 are all featured in this lovely picture. My hair is from doux which can be found at equal 10. My shirt came from Uber. My boots are from Uber and by Utopia@Design. The bed, 8 tracks, furniture, food items, and dishes are from collabor88. There are also a few food items from Uber as well. My skirt is from collabor88. The nightstand is from Fameshed. I would go into everyone of these items in detail, but real life is sneaking up on me. Generally, my blogs are a little longer, but I have been dealing with lack of sleep. So my pillow beckons me for a nap. BUT, I do like to add a moral or something important in my blogs. With Thanksgiving coming up around the corner, I wanted to again emphasize the importance of enjoying life. Family can be crazy. Friends can be difficult sometimes. BUT, these people in life are so important. It’s important to take a moment and enjoy the season… find something to be thankful for and cherish it. Every season has its beauty. Don’t let it pass you by.

The Hermit

 

 

 

I like to go into a little shell and be a hermit and make music for a while. Delta Goodrem

There’s no doubt in my mind that this is my time to be a hermit. I’ve stayed on my land inworld, working on creating ideas for my blog. In real life, I got lost in a sea of music and books–anything creative. Sometimes being a hermit takes the edge off of living. It allows us to escape into our own little private bubble. And I needed to wrap myself in a bubble, allowing myself to laugh as much as possible and smile at the best things in life. I buried myself in the endless whole of netflix comedians. I have to say, being a hermit didn’t suck. Actually, it was quite relaxing.

Yet there comes a time, when you have to interact with the world. You have to pop the bubble that you live in, because people aren’t designed to be alone all the time. We’re social creatures, even if it means only spending time with others sometimes. I felt bad for needing space, because not everyone understood the silence. People take it personal. I had many reasons for wanting to close myself off this week, getting lost in my work inworld or spending time in real life.

This past week, I was very busy with real life and I’m going to take a brief second to talk about my real life–only because it effects my time inworld. I’ve waited all summer for a surgery date, but I had to get scans and tests done, before I could even think about booking it. I finally have a date set for surgery. Since I have a date for surgery and now all the details to go forward, my blogging will be sporadic after September 10th. I want to thank my sponsors for their patience and understanding at this time. This was my main reason for needing time alone. I’ve had a week of calling family and friends, giving them all the details. It has been a bit draining, so I needed time alone in all worlds.

Since I felt like a hermit, I decided that this was the perfect time to create a picture of this card in the major arcana. I can relate to it so much this week. It has a simple meaning. “The Hermit Tarot card suggests that you are in a phase of introspection where you are drawing your attention and focus inward and looking for answers within. You have a strong need to understand, not just at the surface level but to really know why life is the way it is. The Hermit reflects that your consciousness has moved inward and you now realize that the truth and understanding you seek is within yourself and not in the distractions of the outside world. This is a perfect time to take a step back from your day-to-day life and deeply contemplate your motivations, personal principles and values.” I definitely needed time alone to recharge my batteries and gain perspective.

As I was withdrawing from the world and evaluating everything, I decided to create a set that reflected my current feelings. So I looked no further than Collabor88 and Equal10. There are so so many items in this picture that are from this round at C88. I’m not going to go through every item, because this blog would be very very long. BUT I will make a quick mention of Equal10. A friend and designer created these cute whimsical bunny ears with flowers–Eliavah at Equal10. They are so so cute. I knew right away that I had to be a “bad” bunny. I also want to mention romp. My mask is from cubic cherry at romp. Opps, it seems that I’ve fallen, while snapping this picture. I was hoping my audience would forgive me for a non stunning posed picture. Everyone makes mistakes, right? Right??? It’s okay though. I’ve forgiven myself and taken this opportunity to laugh at myself.

I’m starting to embrace humor in my pictures. I was chatting with someone one day. They commented on my pictures not being funny or fun. I did some self reflections and realized that they were right. It’s nice to change up your pictures or old habits. You may even learn something new about yourself in the process. It’s never too late to try something new. And I definitely wanted to try something different. Maybe even laugh at myself a little.

But, I could never have been given this opportunity without the help of some very special designers. I visited the vintage fair recently and found this really great set from a company that’s new to me. Kei’s Spot is the creator of this 1950’s inspired bath house. Even though it’s not the exclusive at the vintage fair, it’s still a great piece. Here’s why, many times I look at backdrops and buy them, but they do sit in my inventory. This type of backdrop isn’t really just for pictures. I can actually use this as decor on my land. I love buying something that will double as a photo prop and also use it multiple times for different purposes. I really hope that more companies start to make a backdrops that could double as decor. My picture would never have the same feeling with out Kei’s spot.. so thank you so much for creating this fun product!!

Moving along to my bathing suit, as many people know, I’m having a love affair with Eliavah products. She created this wonderful bathing suit for Frou Frou. I absolutely adore all the options that are available. With the options of a shiny suit, or more of a matte textured suit, I had to try something a bit different. I love this company because I’m always tempted to try new colors, designs, or patterns. There are 33 available options for the swimsuit. that’s a lot of options. The fatpack does include additional options only available with in it. There’s 27 available options. BUT, she also included a hud to change the ribbons as well. So there are a ton of ways to customize your bathing suit. I can’t rave about this company enough, but she definitely works hard and it shows.

Finally, I’d like to talk about my tattoo and hair. I found this hair at equal10 by Doux. It’s not the exclusive event item, but I knew it would be perfect for this photo. My tattoo is from Pichi. I like to throw in tattoos sometimes. It’s a nice change and everyone needs a bit of change sometimes. It’s available at the vintage fair and it is an item exclusive. I really hope that you visit these events on the grid. There are some great products out there.

The Lovers

I know it’s early for another blog, but what can I say? There’s so much good stuff out right now. I just had to do another post…… you know to validate all my shopping. Seriously, the grid has been hopping with events. It’s a little late in the evening… very late, so this post will be a little short.

Some may have noticed links to music, I include them because music is part of blogging for me. It’s insanely relaxing to blog with music…and I like sharing. I have been on a very big hip hop/R&B kick for the last week or so. In the area that I grew up in, this genre of music was really popular. And I’ve been spending time in real life with some long time friends. We busted out the music and partied with BBQ, one very sunny day. This song reminds me of that weekend.

Now, for my title, it’s still my tarot card series. This picture is inspired by the lovers card. I was also inspired by….cough..cough…cough… The Red Light District event—-not to mention a few other events. But, I have to mention those events, because they were so good. I’m just going to blabber away where everything is from because there are so many of them.

To begin, my shorts are from Eliavah. I found them at equal10, which is a fairly new event. I’ve been to it a few times and I have to say it. I kind of love it. So definitely go to Equal10 and check out Eliavah’s merchandise. Just Because created this tube top with an option of having a ruffle or without, which was perfect for this outfit. The shoes are from Vale Koer which is now out along with the tube top at Collabor88. Now moving along to the male model, he is wearing an outfit by Gabriel at TMD, to include the shirt and pants. His necklace is from Real Evil Industries. I’ve never heard of this company, until now, it’s called Zoom, which created his glasses. His hair is from Doux. It’s called Troy and now on sale at Man Cave.

And finally, the furniture is next. The bed is on sale at The Red Light District and it’s by Krescendo. The lights are from Ariskea and the chair is by second spaces. You can find the chair, and lights at Collabor88–and my tube top. Last, but certainly not least, my backdrop came from a new company called House of Shade, which is working with foxcity. Speaking of which, my pose is from Foxcity.  I highly recommend every item, and event listed.

Finally..finally finally, this quote is so meaningful to me. I agree so completely. Love. I could say a lot of things about love, but I do need to end this blog in a reasonable amount of time. For me, it shapes my entire world. My whole reason for being here is to love. Love gives us life, honey. And without it, there would be a world of darkness. It’s wonderful to give and receive love in all its lovely forms. So love each other harder. And if you hate someone, love them enough not to do harm. Love is a wonderful emotion and it makes the world go round.
