I haven’t been around much in the month of October, unfortunately I have been dealing with medical stuff. Trust me, I would rather be online, but sometimes you just have to take care of real life first. This was definitely one of those cases. BUT, I have a few things that I’d like to blog. Everything you see in this photo is available at collabor88 but you have to hurry since it closes on the 6th. The back drop is from foxcity. The bats are from half deer and so is the coffin shelf. Melting in the Heat

Whew, it is HAWT outside. I truly believe that.. if i could have melted… I probably would have this past week. It seems we are all feeling the heat. The weather totally knocked me out last week. The temperatures lowered. And I feel like a person again…not on fire. This past week, I felt pretty miserable from the heat like so many. Thankfully, in my real life, my animals kept me really great company. I was incredibly lucky to have them. So my pets kind of inspired this picture–chilling with ice cream and my best friend by my side. Animals are awesome like that.

Which leads me to the next topic, the adorable wolf, decor, and fantastic summer clothes, I must talk about it all. There are a TON of items in this picture. As I was writing down all my credits in a notecard, I realized that… I may just need to mention briefly the events. Most of the items featured above are from Collabor88 and the latest round at the Epiphany. I have to say.. I really adore this outfit. I don’t want to take it off. This cute little romper by Aleutia, hair from monso, earrings from Max Gossamer, glasses by fetch are all from Collabor88. My decor comes from so many wonderful companies: Ice cream and inner tube from Dahlia, cat bag and gun from Tentacio, gloves from foxwood, and way too many to list in this paragraph. As I melted from heat in real life, I really just wanted to be by the beach with an ice cream cone, a water gun.. and may be a furry friend by my side. July has been the month where I haven’t been online much. I am going to have more time, since some things in my real life have slowed down. I had family that had an adoption go through. So I’ve spent some nights talking to family and sharing pictures of the little guy. We’re all thrilled. But now, I can sit down relax and kind of get into the groove of blogging again. Nope, I didn’t quit. I actually met to write this blog awhile ago. I’ve had a few issues with second life crashing on me and my power has not been great this past week. I actually lost power, trying to take this picture. So seeing it done, I’m truly happy. Hopefully my luck gets a bit better with my next photo :P.

There are a lot of events in this photo, featured above. So lets begin. My dress, hair, and shoes are all from collabor88. My gorgeous dress is by Ison, which I paired with a pair of shoes by Pure Poison. And my hair is by Opale. My bed, bookshelf, and mirror come from Ariskea. The speaker in the background is by mishmish, and the picture of a person outlined is by Fancy Decor, all of these items are available from Collabor88. The curtains, flower frame, cabinet, lamp, and tray with a grapefruit, and book on the table are all available at Uber and it’s by Dust Bunny. I just love decor from Dust Bunny. I always seem to end up buying it. My vanity is from Access and it’s by Build works Decor. The cake is from an event called Spring Flair 2–and from Ariskea. The chair, bunny, rug, stool, and pink vase of flowers all come from Kalopsia, which are available at Fameshed. The tray in the background is by granola, and you can also find this item at Fameshed. The strawberries, and the bag are also available at Fameshed. Whew, I know there’s a lot of new products in this photo. I have bought quite a bit of furniture lately inworld. The quote above is a wonderful reminder that things don’t always last forever. There’s always change in life. Winter comes and goes. There’s the hope of new life and new beginnings in spring. No matter what hardship a person goes through, there’s always solace in change. And for me, I welcome spring, and change. I’m inviting the warm air of spring to grace my sim. It’s time to bring flowers into the world and let go of the cold.

Before I go, I want to make a quick note. I meant to make this blog post earlier, but I’ve been dealing with power outages, and storms. It’s part of the reason why this post is late. I’ve also had some issues with second life.. like most people lately. I’m hoping no further issues come along. Crossing my fingers……..

As I sit here writing this blog, I’m thinking of all the things that scare people. I’m scared to do a lot of things, but I can’t let the fear win. Second life can be like that too. Sometimes doing things that scare you will give you the most satisfaction–maybe it’s taking pictures, starting a business, or as simple as talking to people. Life in general can be a bit scary. However, if we don’t do things that scare us, then we deny ourselves the opportunity to live. Second life is just like that… If you don’t try the things that scare you, then you’ll never fully live.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the cost of fear. It’s a truly high price. It stops us. It denies us experiences. It’s that feeling of facing a wall, even though you have the tools to take it down. It stops that thought of being capable.

After surgery, I was scared and frightened. I began to move and again fear took over, literally stopping me from taking a step. It’s such a simple thing, yet it became the size of a mountain. It took my breathe away. Thoughts raced through my head of all the what if’s. But in the end, I took a step. It scared me, but I did. Second life has it’s own wall of fears that so many people battle. And sometimes, you just have to take a step toward whatever scares you. Taking that first step over fear is huge. I encourage people to be brave and take that first action. It may just lead you to a path that you were meant to take.

Moving along to my picture and the discussion of fear. I wanted to portray an image of dancing, having fun, and living in the face of something scary. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there, despite whatever negative feeling is stopping you. Feel the fear. Don’t let it win. Fight it. And in the end you will know more about yourself.

If you want to dance with some friendly skeletons (which is a little scary), all you have to do is stick with me for a little longer. My gorgeous outfit is from the Eliavah gacha, which is available at the epiphany. I really really rally like this outfit. So I recommend it highly. The Hermit

 

 

 

I like to go into a little shell and be a hermit and make music for a while. Delta Goodrem

There’s no doubt in my mind that this is my time to be a hermit. I’ve stayed on my land inworld, working on creating ideas for my blog. In real life, I got lost in a sea of music and books–anything creative. Sometimes being a hermit takes the edge off of living. It allows us to escape into our own little private bubble. And I needed to wrap myself in a bubble, allowing myself to laugh as much as possible and smile at the best things in life. I buried myself in the endless whole of netflix comedians. I have to say, being a hermit didn’t suck. Actually, it was quite relaxing.

Yet there comes a time, when you have to interact with the world. You have to pop the bubble that you live in, because people aren’t designed to be alone all the time. We’re social creatures, even if it means only spending time with others sometimes. I felt bad for needing space, because not everyone understood the silence. People take it personal. I had many reasons for wanting to close myself off this week, getting lost in my work inworld or spending time in real life.

This past week, I was very busy with real life and I’m going to take a brief second to talk about my real life–only because it effects my time inworld. I’ve waited all summer for a surgery date, but I had to get scans and tests done, before I could even think about booking it. I finally have a date set for surgery. Since I have a date for surgery and now all the details to go forward, my blogging will be sporadic after September 10th. I want to thank my sponsors for their patience and understanding at this time. This was my main reason for needing time alone. I’ve had a week of calling family and friends, giving them all the details. It has been a bit draining, so I needed time alone in all worlds.

Since I felt like a hermit, I decided that this was the perfect time to create a picture of this card in the major arcana. I can relate to it so much this week. It has a simple meaning. “The Hermit Tarot card suggests that you are in a phase of introspection where you are drawing your attention and focus inward and looking for answers within. You have a strong need to understand, not just at the surface level but to really know why life is the way it is. The Hermit reflects that your consciousness has moved inward and you now realize that the truth and understanding you seek is within yourself and not in the distractions of the outside world. This is a perfect time to take a step back from your day-to-day life and deeply contemplate your motivations, personal principles and values.” I definitely needed time alone to recharge my batteries and gain perspective.

As I was withdrawing from the world and evaluating everything, I decided to create a set that reflected my current feelings. So I looked no further than Collabor88 and Equal10. There are so so many items in this picture that are from this round at C88. I’m not going to go through every item, because this blog would be very very long. BUT I will make a quick mention of Equal10. A friend and designer created these cute whimsical bunny ears with flowers–Eliavah at Equal10. They are so so cute. I knew right away that I had to be a “bad” bunny. I also want to mention romp. My mask is from cubic cherry at romp.
