You can’t separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom. Malcolm X

Hey everyone, so the grid has some really really really great shopping. It’s so incredibly good, that I’m broke until Thursday. Say whaatttt? You will have to stick with me for the next few days, as I go into my blogging frenzy. But first let’s begin with this picture…
Collabor88 has a spacey theme.. from UFO’s to all things out of this world. It’s a really fun concept, and this is the time to pick up some really fun and funky items. My flying spaceship is from Reign. It’s really meant to be attached to you, so that you’re flying around in a UFO rather than walking. It’s pretty great. I adore it. If you do rez this ship, I do have to warn you.. it is a lot of prims. I would so suggest flying around in it. Then, there’s this panda.. this cute adorable panda. It’s by mishmish. There’s a decor option or a companion. The lamps and tiny flying UFO are from Schendenfreude. It has a hud to change the textures. It’s a wonderful item, if you like a mod style to your decor. I like it because the lamps are extremely unique. I really haven’t seen anything quite like it in my second life shopping travels. The bar sign and table are from second spaces. I used this sign as an inspiration for this photo. I also included this funky chair that pairs great with the lamps. Soy made this ultra funky hip chair. And then my backdrop is from Foxcity. The backdrop has some really bright and beautiful lighting. I always have this special place in my heart for Foxcity. I tend to use their windlighs quite a bit, so I’m a little partial to this brand.
Finally, we absolutely must talk about my out of this world outfit. My bodysuit and cuffs are by the none other Eliavah. She created this futuristic bodysuit. Again, this item is really unique with the glow of the cuffs, to the glowing parts of the bodysuit. The piping can be changed, that lines this outfit. The belt has color and medal options too. There’s so many options for textures, and the fatpack has so many options for piping, bodysuit, and glow–along with the belt and metal. The texture of the bodysuit has a beautiful sheen to it. It’s a really fun piece to have in your inventory for those out of this world parties. And then this hair.. this really cute hair is by monso. My hair has a truly romantic feel. It can be paired with so many different types of outfits from romantic to fashion forward. This wig is definitely a great hairstyle for those hot summer months. Then, finally, there’s this really dainty cute necklace, which is by La Baguette. Before I forget, my pose is by Fashiowl. I pulled this whole picture together with this completely fabulous pose, which is available on the marketplace.
I’ve so enjoyed making this picture. I know there are some incredibly things at collabor88 this round..special and different than your every day items. I hope you too find something special at this months round. Bring family or a friend with you and have a blast.
Before I leave you to the credits, I want to talk about my quote. I’ve been on a kick this past few posts about peace. As some may know, June is pride. I think peace, love, and acceptance are just so important. I think Malcom X said it best with this quote. You really can’t be at peace without freedom. Pride is all about freedom… the freedom to be who you are, because you can’t truly be at peace without being able to be who you are. That’s what this month is all about the freedom of being who you are. I hope everyone is having a happy pride. My Pride picture is yet to come, so stay tuned my loyal followers. I will be back.
Be Kind To One Another.
Cheers,
Violet XOXO

On The Way Home

Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone. Charles M. Schulz

Before I get into my Christmas post. I want to talk about a few events. Kustom9 is fantastic this round and I spent a ton of money there. I can’t recommend this round enough. Collabor88 only has a few more weeks before a new round begins, so you will have to hurry to get their awesome items by various designers. Eliavah created this really great dress and bomber jacket for Kustom9. I really love the bomber jacket and I can see myself using it time and time again. My hair is by Sintiklia and available at Collabor88 and I love it. I keep buying their hair and adoring it. The backdrop from foxcity brings back some great memories of traveling home for the holidays, which is also from Kustom9. I have a deep love of this company and I am never disappointed. Her poses are truly wonderful. There are so many great items from Collabor88 and my picture features a few of them above. If you like any of the items featured in this photo, please check out my credits.

I’ve always liked Charlie Brown. So when I came across this quote, I knew that it had a place in my blog. I’ve been meaning to post this for a little while, but the holidays sort of had a way of sneaking up on me. Before I knew it, I had to buy gifts and wrap things. I had to find cookies and cards.. and well life took over for a couple of days. The wrapping paper has settled. The bows are now on the presents, displayed on the gifts. The family has been called. Friends have contacted me. Things in my home are a bit more calm. So I finally am writing this post…finally.
I’ve gone through some madness this month in all worlds, so I returned to the one person who  has known me the longest who gave me some perspective, love, and even insight. She reminded me what the holidays truly mean. She grounded me firmly to the ground and she showed me the light, despite the darkness. I have a friend in real life who has literally known me half of my life. Sometimes we all need those people who have known us the longest to say.. this isn’t you.. and it’s okay to need people. She has made her way over to my house many times in the last two months and I have been very grateful for it. But it’s not just her. It was strangers who I also knew in another life, coming back to me and supporting me, when everything fell apart. I had people take away the stress with a phone call and a text. I have been so grateful for those people. For it is them that help me to be the friend that I want to be.
But it’s also the people in second life. The people who have spent time with me and listened to me. The people who stuck by me, when I couldn’t even be there for myself. They too served me a reminder of the person that I want to be and want to continue to be. It is people in life who make us who we are–for better or worse. Some with teach us. Some will support us. And some will surprise us.
When the beginning of December started, I wanted to write this blog with the theme of peace. Yet, my life had been anything but peaceful. It stopped me from promoting the kindness, love, and appreciation in the world, because I was crumbling. I had dealt with fights and misunderstandings, personal disappointments, anger, frustration, and even heartache. It wasn’t the breeding ground for peace because I couldn’t find it in my own life.
I didn’t find peace until a long lost friend stepped forward in real life. She opened up and so did I. It was that time spent sharing tears, joys, and just life in general. She was my gift this holiday season. She reminded me that I was very loved and very missed, in the mess that is life–children, family, and work. It was her light that guided me back to the person that I have always been. I woke up and I had found my peace. She gave that to me through the friendship that I have always known. On my birthday, she had given me a gift–a necklace of an anchor. She told me that I had kept her grounded and her feet firmly planted on the ground to reason. Months later, she became my anchor of reason, when I needed it most. She told me to keep calm and talk through my problems with people and not to run away. She told me that peace was found in dealing with things and seeing past issues and the good in people around me. Then, I would find peace. She was right.

I wanted to be more and do more, but I’m not able to do more or be more. She stepped behind the sink and started doing dishes… no questions asked. She just did them. She cleared away the mess. And she said to me, sometimes it’s okay to let someone help clean things up and it’s okay that things aren’t perfect. those who see you, and your struggle who love you….will understand.

In that moment, it had clicked. I had found my peace. In my messy home and imperfect life, I had found my peace. I was able to slowly come back to the computer and slowly make appointments–decisions and be okay. Second life is very much like that. Those who come to love you will understand. They will understand when you have to pull long hours and not be online. They understand that maybe you need complete silence or a few days to sink into an inventory. They understand what you need in your second life. It’s when we find understanding people that we are truly at peace. And sometimes people will show us how to get it, when we don’t know how to find that inner sanctuary.

Before I close this blog post, I want to talk about who inspired my closing, “be kind to one another.” It was Ellen DeGeneres. I have always loved her show and her. I always viewed her as having a lot of strength. She spoke her truth, despite consequences. She lives as the person that she is and not the person people want her to be. There’s a lot of power in that. But also, she has a  very bright light. She was never completely lost by her struggles. She instead gave light, and laughter to others–promoting kindness. I recently watched her latest standup. Someone asked how she never gave up. She tapped into her own light to keep going. I think on this holiday season, when you see the flicker of light on the tree, remember your own light that you give to the world and don’t give up hope. And remember the holidays are about family and friends that also stand by your side, when the lights have gone dim. For those people, they will remind you of your own light. For me, this is the meaning of Christmas–people, love, and hope.

Hug those you love, tell them–virtually and in real life. I hope you all have wonderful laughter with good people around you and the yummiest of food.

Happy Holidays Everyone….and remember

Be Good To One Another

Cheers,

Violet xoxo

Foot Note–I want to make a brief mention about adult photos, since I know some blog adult content. I did a lot of research the other day and found that Flickr had updated their rules about how to share those photos. You are now supposed to only post the picture ..as a copy of the photo, but not with a direct link of the photo. But you are also supposed to provide a link back to flickr. You can read more about how to link adult rated photos to your blog here.

https://help.flickr.com/en_us/share-restricted-content-rktA3QjJQ

The wording is a bit confusing, but you are allowed to share restricted photos that are public, but you can no longer embed the photo into a post. I suspect that this is due to the sex trafficking laws and how they impact companies. Embedding the photo would cause a great deal of confusion for who would be accountable for the content.

But again, you can link restricted photos. You just can’t embed them into your post.

Intelligence is the wife, imagination is the mistress, memory is the servant. Victor Hugo

I’ve been putting off this blog post for a little while. This past week has been stressful inworld for photographers, bloggers, and creators. Flickr is imposing new rules, turning out community upside down. There are some changes going on and I’d like to touch upon a few things.
Many residents are now switching to Instagram over Flickr. Last week, Flickr announced a cap of a 1,000 pictures on free accounts. Residents are now expected to label pictures as screen shots as well, meaning that groups need to change their settings to allow screenshots. And if you link pictures to any form of business, you must be pro to do so, which leads me to my next topic. Many bloggers link their pictures to events inworld, which deals with an exchange of funds. So to be safe, I paid for pro. Other bloggers should consider going pro or to instagram.
As soon as I heard of the changes, I sought out my fellow bloggers, creators, and photographers. Many of them have decided to create accounts on Instagram. I am also now there as well. I am also contemplating starting a tumblr blog as an extension to my blog.
Many may not realize it.. but.. Instagram has very strict rules about nudity and depictions of sex…as well as sex itself. I would highly suggest that residents use Tumblr, if you’re a blogger, photographer, or creator who creates things of the X rated nature, then tumblr is a good option to display such works. I don’t always just  blog pg and g rated material and will let my followers know of any addition to social media platforms to display my work. But for the time being, you can find me on Flickr and Instagram.
In time, things will calm down a bit. Life will return to normal. But for now, we’re all experiencing some changes. It will take time. I want to remind everyone that humor is helpful in those stressful moments.. and… well chocolate.
Normally, I would have blogged Uber by now, but setting up an Instagram account took some getting use to. I know excuses..excuses. But I’m here now!! I swear! And I’m getting into the swing of things once again.
To relieve some stress, I headed over to Uber and Fameshed. A lot of my decor was purchased from both of these events. My entire outfit is from Uber. I saw this wonderful corseted dress by Junbug at Uber. I also found this great eyeshadow by Veechi and hair from Lamb. My boots are also available at Uber. They’re made by Reign. Foxwood created this really great set of furniture. I very rarely buy fatpacks for furniture, but I did pick up the fatpack. It is fast becoming some of my favorite pieces this fall season. I headed over to Fameshed and found the weathered chair, sconce and coat rack from DRD. Before I forget, I also bought a wine cart from peaches and the mirror by Sayo, both are available at uber. Last but not least, the skybox is from Semipiternal. I knew that this skybox was perfect for my dark inspired after sexy Halloween picture.
Most times, I take very clean pictures, but I do enjoy taking pictures of a naughtier nature at times. I love this outfit. It makes me feel soft, yet sexy and bold. I think there is nothing better than being able to express oneself. I’ve seen many people discuss nudity and sex in second life. I don’t shy away from it, yet I embrace it. I walk a very fine line.
Speaking of walking that fine line of sex and nudity. This really hawt pose is by Cuca Designs. You can find this great pose at her mainstore. It’s located on the second floor. I’ve always enjoyed taking femdom inspired pictures. I like the idea of being a woman who is strong and powerful. It’s reclaiming sexuality and strength with no apologies. So often women shy away from their inner goddess within. I don’t believe in hiding it. I never will. So I will let my pictures serve as its own mistress, dancing with my imagination. I’ll capture the moment and let my memory serve to preserve the past.
In closing, I want to say that no matter what you struggle with in any world, you are much stronger than you think This past week has tested me in every possible way. Sometimes the best way to deal with struggle is taking a moment for yourself and doing something that you enjoy. I was reminded this week the importance of taking time for myself, planning visits with friends in that other realms that we call real life.  I hope that if you notice the signs of feeling overly stressed, that you take a moment for yourself. I highly recommend Lost Girl on Netflix and Sabrina.. those were my poisons of choice this past week. Okay enough of that, enjoy shopping and bring a friend along.
As always, be kind to one another.
Cheers,
Violet XOXO
