Woman like me

So I’m going to make this blog a little short, since it is really early or late–depending on your perception of things. I will say this picture has me craving pizza like crazy. Thank you baguette for making the perfect virtual pizza. I think there may be a pizza in my future that is for sure.

So, I find myself a bit lonely lately, but that’s only because my schedule is very wacky at the moment. I am alone quite a bit, but I know that it will change soon–thankfully. So feeling that loneliness led me to the Einstein quote. It’s good to remind yourself that being alone is a good thing. Also I find that second life can be feast or famine sometimes. There are times where there is a ton of people to talk to and then.. sometimes the world seems a bit quiet. Feeling that I came across the quote and song (both can be found on flickr).

Moving right along to all those wonderful creations in the above picture. Most of the items in the above pick are from Collabor88 and the epiphany–both close soon. The new round of Collabor88 starts on the 8th and the epiphany closes soon. I will have to get back to you on closing dates, after I wake up :). Before I end with my credits, I know there has been so much tragedy in the US. I’m thinking of the families and the people who were senselessly killed by a shooter with no regard to life. This life is so precious and it’s sad that individuals feel as though they need to selfishly take it away. There is not enough love in the world. There’s not enough respect for life. Despite the tragedies, I will always have faith that things will change.. and one day there will be no mass shootings. Look for further posts in the future for charities to help the survivors. Keep them in your in hearts, thoughts, and prayers. ♥

Melting in the Heat

Whew, it is HAWT outside. I truly believe that.. if i could have melted… I probably would have this past week. It seems we are all feeling the heat. The weather totally knocked me out last week. The temperatures lowered. And I feel like a person again…not on fire. This past week, I felt pretty miserable from the heat like so many. Thankfully, in my real life, my animals kept me really great company. I was incredibly lucky to have them. So my pets kind of inspired this picture–chilling with ice cream and my best friend by my side. Animals are awesome like that.

Which leads me to the next topic, the adorable wolf, decor, and fantastic summer clothes, I must talk about it all. There are a TON of items in this picture. As I was writing down all my credits in a notecard, I realized that… I may just need to mention briefly the events. Most of the items featured above are from Collabor88 and the latest round at the Epiphany. I have to say.. I really adore this outfit. I don’t want to take it off. This cute little romper by Aleutia, hair from monso, earrings from Max Gossamer, glasses by fetch are all from Collabor88. My decor comes from so many wonderful companies: Ice cream and inner tube from Dahlia, cat bag and gun from Tentacio, gloves from foxwood, and way too many to list in this paragraph. You really will have to check out my credits down below. I really shopped till I dropped.

As I melted from heat in real life, I really just wanted to be by the beach with an ice cream cone, a water gun.. and may be a furry friend by my side. July has been the month where I haven’t been online much. I am going to have more time, since some things in my real life have slowed down. I had family that had an adoption go through. So I’ve spent some nights talking to family and sharing pictures of the little guy. We’re all thrilled. But now, I can sit down relax and kind of get into the groove of blogging again. I’m going to keep this blog short, because I need to. I’m sorry everyone. When I feel a bit better, I’ll write a long post.

However since there are so many events featured in this post, I want to go over them very briefly. As you can see a lot of items came from this month’s bloom event. I also visited Collabor88, whore couture, kustom9, shiny shabby, and FaMESHed. Whew, yup I did some major retail therapy. I also bought a ton of items from Tentacio. I keep loving everything they create lately. It’s just flat out beautiful. Ariskea has also made some really great items. Nutmeg is a long time favorite of mine. I can’t rave about them enough. I buy everything they make. I’m not even ashamed. Foxwood, Apple fall, Granola, and HEXtraordinary also made some great pieces that all work really well together. My hair from SINTIKLIA has also become a new favorite. I love their hair. My pants from cynful are extremely elegant, and my top from Bombshell is incredibly sexy. Last but certainly not least is my pose from Cuca Designs, which is featured at whore couture fair. It only has a few more days so you will have to hurry. I have to say that she has made a handful of very sweet poses and they really are incredibly wonderful. All of the items in this picture will be used again. I’m certain of it. Truly, designers.. I’m looking forward to spring. All of your creations have been very beautiful. Thank you for making pretty pretty pretty things for me to buy ♥

Sweet Dreams

I have been really busy this past week in all worlds. I’ve taken pictures and built sets. And I finally get that moment to really sit down and think about this blog post. As soon as, I saw the backdrop from foxcity at Collabor88, I knew right away that I would make a dreamy post with sweet treats. So I really have looked forward to this post.

Normally on Valentine’s day, I send out photos ..a valentine’s day card. But this year, I indulged in sweet treats in real life, savoring each wonderful bite and I really did just enjoy the day. Instead, I opted for a delectable treats and a day of rest instead.

I love valentine’s day and wanted to do a month of sweet dreamy posts. I wanted to get lost in the moment of happiness. And maybe make a post inspired by legally blond. I love that movie. And I would be lying, if I said that movie wasn’t my muse. It totally was. There’s a scene where Elle Woods is sitting in her bed eating chocolate, after a break up. I think many people have gone through that upset. For some reason, second life seemed to curse a lot of my friends this past month. And that scene is one that always comes to mind, when I think of break ups–maybe because I’ve been there before. Who hasn’t?

This month has been nothing of love and hearts inworld for me personally, but in my dreams..and my pictures it was sweet sailing. So I let my love of all things sweet inspire me and a scene covered in pink–despite the sadness. I think even in that scene.. one can see the hope. Her friends coming to pull her out of her funk. Second life can be like that…so much. We go through a hard break with a friend, significant other, partner, etc, and we get Elle Woods in that moment. But it’s nice to see the hope through our friends.

What made my valentine’s day sweet inworld? It was my friends saying things that I needed to hear… not what I wanted to hear. It was the people who surrounded me in all things pink and reminded me that mistakes don’t define you. Anger is only temporary. And there are moments of calm. So maybe you have been touched by the second life Valentine’s Day curse. This post is for you my friend. I’m here to say, this too shall pass. Keep dreaming sweet things. Maybe indulge in something sweet in real life. If you can’t have that sweet treat in real life, maybe opt for something that you love to do instead. Whatever you do, just make sure to do something that makes you smile. And remember forgiveness is important, not for the other person, but for yourself. Holding on to anger and resentment only hurts us that much more in the end.

I came to the conclusion of what to write by a show called One Day At A Time. It’s about a Latino family living in Los Angeles, with all of its ups and downs of life. In one of the episodes, there was a woman struggling with anxiety. Recently, I’ve dealt with my own anxiety, during bad moments of pain. It can be scary and hard, especially when you can’t breath. But it was in that moment, I realized the importance of second life being a calm place. This isn’t a space where I want to be angry at anyone. My body makes me angry enough. This isn’t the place for it. And in that, I found forgiveness. I forgave anyone in that moment, because anger no longer served me. I can only hope that moment of clarity comes to others. It’s a gift. And if you seek a peaceful second life, it all starts within.

Before I end this blog post, I want to go into my fabulous outfit. My shirt, cardigan, skirt, and shoes are all by the fantastic Eliavah. She has really out done herself with this outfit. The texture and colors are so pretty. I felt soft and feminine. I just want to go out in the town and party the night away in this outfit. Normally, I don’t post a picture and credits first, BUT I have been a very busy girl in all world. As you can see above, I’ve been busy shopping and decorating (in both worlds!). I debated making this two separate posts. But I took the first picture and then received a few things from one of my sponsors and I wanted to make it a series. And so here we are.

There are a TON of great shopping right now. I’ve been to Kustom9, Tannenbaum, The Arcade, Uber, The epiphany, and black friday shopping.. whew so much shopping. And I did some real life shopping too….my poor wallet. But as you can see, I’ve been super busy planning this photo. This holiday season, you will see warm and cozy posts, featuring some great pieces by creators. They have surely been working super hard and it shows.

I’ve had some worried friends online and I want to assure everyone… I really am okay. I’ve been really busy in both worlds. Managing the holidays and physical therapy is definitely challenging. And I’ve had a few tough days thrown into the mix. Things will calm down soon. I’m sure of it. But I am working hard to create pictures that  I can be proud of.. and I hope that you like them too.

I have included all of my credits, below the photos. I thought this may be a bit easier to navigate due to the amount of items in each picture. My theme for this month with Peace, love, and joy. I encourage all residents to put issues aside, come together, and be friendly. Peace on Earth …good will toward one another is the true essence of the holidays. Lets love one another enough to care about each other. We can not live without the help of each other…and humanity can be a beautiful gorgeous part of life, when we seek the positive out of life. I hope you fill your heart with love and share that love with others this wonderful holiday season

I am incredibly thankful for a lot of things this year. One, I’m thankful that I’m here. I was watching a show called Lost Girl. There’s a line from a character who talks about how having life is so special. You have memories good, bad, and everything in between, but you have them. You have a chance to make them, no matter what you’re going through. No matter your hardship. You are living. I am living and that in itself is something to be grateful for. That one line changed me. Of course, I didn’t write the line word for word. it is paraphrased. It is definitely food for thought.

Then, I came across this quote. You open a door for someone. They respond with the common thank you. It is a sign of appreciation and respect in the act itself. It is the recognition of kindness being noticed. Showing others that they are thought of.. and appreciated is so incredibly special. Then you have the recognition of what someone else is doing for you. It’s always always always important to show others gratitude. It’s important to let them know that any act of kindness no matter how big or small is appreciated. It’s something that maybe is lacking–our outward appreciation of the positive actions done to us by others.

It’s Thanksgiving here. And I love reminding myself to tell people what they mean to me. It’s a practice that has given me a lot of meaning. It softens the soul, knowing that others care for each other. We are all meaningful and we are all important to others–even strangers. I rely a lot on strangers, family, and friends. There is no way that I couldn’t have all those people on my mind. Sometimes the people who have helped me the most in the last year has been complete strangers in my real life. People helping me into wheel chairs, opening doors, and helping me in any way they can. I’ve been helped by medical staff. I’ve been helped by friends who visit to raise my spirits. Even inworld, I see that same kindness. So I try to practice gratitude as often as I can. This year has definitely taught me that people help and aid others, even when they themselves are struggling and sometimes I am never aware of those struggles. I had a cancer patient open a door for me. There was no way that I could help her, other than show her my appreciation. The only thing she asked of me was to pay it forward to others. And I have every intention to do so.

So in the spirit of gratitude, I want to thank the designers and creators who work so incredibly hard to create these beautiful items featured in this photo. I want to start off with this fantastic dress. I can not gush enough about this dress. I love it… I really do. I think this may be one of my favorite dresses. I plan on wearing this again quite a bit. It’s just gorgeous and the detail is beautifully done. You can find it at Equal10 by Eliavah and it’s called Serenade. My hair is from SINTIKLIA and called Gigi, which is available at collabor88. You’ll have to hurry though, because before you know it.. the next round will begin. My flower crown is by Lode and it’s called Lilu, and you can find it at this latest round of the chapter four. Ali (the blond) is wearing the same flower crown, but in a different color, She is also wearing a top from moon elixir and it’s called night bloom, which is available at this months romp. It’s a really cute set with options to color the straps and remove the pom poms. Ali’s hair is from Rama and you can find it at Equal 10. There are some really great events and sales going on with black friday and a lot of them have already started. So get out there and bring a friend. Let the shopping begin.

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone in the States are planning a fun filled fourth of July. Normally, my blog posts are usually a bit quick, but I had to take some time for myself this past week–one to prepare for the holiday and second I needed rest. So I do apologize for my blog coming a little later in the day, than I intended.

This past week has been a wonderful whirl wind of second life for me. I really couldn’t be any more happier than I am right now. I owe that to the people around me. It’s nice to be able to come into this virtual space on a rough day and have your spirit immediately lifted.

Unfortunately, I do want to reiterate that my health hasn’t been perfect, so blogging has not been at the forefront of my brain. I’ve had to take it easy the last few weeks. I’m still making blog posts, but they’re just a little slower than I’d like them to be. We all do what we can.

BUT, the grid has so many wonderful events from uber to famished.. to even rewind. I know this past round of rewind was great. I wan’t able to blog it quick enough, but it’s also an event to explore. Speaking of Uber and Famished….. The blazer, shorts, corset, and even hair come from uber. My sunglasses and rings are available at Fameshed. I really love all of these items together. Together, they help to create something truly special.

When taking this picture, I felt like a drug lord, so I came up with a little blurb with a backstory. I always think that pictures should convey a story or a feeling. It should make you feel something. If pictures don’t give you any sort of feeling, then I haven’t done my job :D.

I had so much fun during that shoot. In the past, I role played a female gangster.. I had a lot of fun with it, so it’s nice to be able to capture something that I portrayed inworld. Second life provides me with an artistic escape into my own thoughts, desires, and playfulness. So this picture means a lot to me.

Continuing on with that role play inspired picture, I picked The Fool from the tarot card deck to represent this particular gangster fueled picture. Even gangsters have to realize that you can’t fool people all the time. In the end, you will be found out and on the run. Yet in the end, running has to end eventually. So I deemed myself a fool on the run with cash and clothes at hand.
