It feels like forever since I wrote my last blog. But here I am, and I am about to talk about one of my favorite events.. Collabor88. Yup, it’s about to come to a close, so you’ll have to hurry to get these items.

This round was one of my favorite rounds. I have a special place in my heart for the desert. Everything this round reminded me of a trip to Nevada that I took.. very long ago. It was the first time.. I went camping. It was the first time that I paddled out to the middle of a lake in a boat. And I got to see the Grand Canyon. And.. it was my first time going to a Native American Reservation. I had a lot of good memories from that trip. Everyone cherishes a memory. That’s just one of mine.

So I have a special place in my heart for events reminding me of this time. Collabor88 closes soon, so you’ll have to get your desert gear before the new round begins. The new round begins on the 8th. You will definitely have to hurry, if you like any of these items. This picture includes so many great second life companies: Phedora, Zenith, Monso, Minimal, Disorderly, Yokai, Half Deer, Random Matter, Kalopsia, and Jian. Whew, there’s a lot of companies in this picture. They all did a fantastic job though. And just look at those adorable puppies. I have ALWAYS wanted a lab, so this purchase was so easy to make. I will probably rez them all the time at my house. They are too cute for words. Also The Arcade just opened. This cute cat playing with a cherry from an ice cream cone is from DISORDERLY. from a gacha machine at The Arcade. I absolutely love it. All these cute little animals makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I was talking to a friend inworld. She helped me to remember going to a reservation and feeling an intense calm wash over me. It’s just not something you forget. Then you add this round of collabor88 (which is about to close), it put a smile on my face.. that is for sure. The bright colors, bohemian treasures, wonderful furniture, and cute adorable animals, truly they are worth checking out before the new round begins. If you haven’t gone, please go before it closes. Don’t miss out.. think of this as last call .. like in a bar, but for an event. There were just so many great products this round. Hurry and pick up those last few items.

Normally, I have a serious, thoughtful and insightful quote. I opted for a silly quote from one of my favorite comedians instead… may he rest in peace. Sometimes you just need a little humor in your life. And I definitely need a good laugh. Who doesn’t? Funny moments and happy memories are truly the great parts of life.

Christmas Love

I once had someone tell me that .. I never have to explain myself. And I think sometimes..especially in second life, I don’t have to. I tried to decide what to put in this latest blog post, and I’ve written it a bunch of times. I finally have decided not to post in detail about my struggles. I am going through things that are difficult and struggling at this time. Thank you for your patience.

However, I will touch base with a few things though, in regards to flickr and tumblr. Some know about the impending changes on tumblr.  Flickr has gone through a few as well. I tried to post a picture a few days ago, but the middle arrow was gray to me. I don’t post restrictive photos often, but I air on the side of caution in regards to lingerie or anything sexual in nature. Since, I don’t post restrictive content often… it could have been like this for the longest time and I just didn’t know that you can’t link the picture directly to a blog post.

I love blogging and I would hate worrying about my flickr page, so I’m careful. The US imposed a bill making companies responsible for the content on their websites. Meaning, if sex trafficking were to be found on their website, the government would hold the website responsible. So websites have now been responding with strict rules or new rules all together in regards to content.

As much as I enjoy taking scandalous photos from time to time, I will be careful from now on in regards to my blog. Since I do air on the side of caution and I have worked hard on my blog for quite some time, I will try to make everything as pg as possible on my page. Hopefully that law will be looked at again and changed, since I think this punishes users and not the criminals that they’re seeking. I will link an article speaking about the law. This is the reason for why so many sites are changing their rules. I’ve seen a lot of second life residents react to the rules (such as tumblr), but not question why it’s happening. This is the reason that it’s happening.. unfortunately.

The reason I will air on the side of caution is because once censorship begins… one has to wonder where it will stop and one has to wonder how it will effect them. Meaning, I do not want my flickr shut down due to sharing my inworld pictures on my blog (even though I highly doubt that will happen). Again, I am just being careful. Better safe than sorry.

And I will touch base on one final thing, before getting to my credits. I am struggling in my real life. I have bad days. I have good days. Little things can seem bigger than they really are, because of those bad days. So if things upset me, I will tend to back off. I’m not doing it to upset anyone. I am doing it for my own mental health. I’m going through enough in real life and sometimes stepping away from an upsetting situation, until I’m in the mental space to handle it is mandatory. I would hate to say or do something that I regret. Again, thank you for your patience at this time.

Normally, I don’t post a picture and credits first, BUT I have been a very busy girl in all world. As you can see above, I’ve been busy shopping and decorating (in both worlds!). I debated making this two separate posts. But I took the first picture and then received a few things from one of my sponsors and I wanted to make it a series. And so here we are.

There are a TON of great shopping right now. I’ve been to Kustom9, Tannenbaum, The Arcade, Uber, The epiphany, and black friday shopping.. whew so much shopping. And I did some real life shopping too….my poor wallet. But as you can see, I’ve been super busy planning this photo. This holiday season, you will see warm and cozy posts, featuring some great pieces by creators. They have surely been working super hard and it shows.

I’ve had some worried friends online and I want to assure everyone… I really am okay. I’ve been really busy in both worlds. Managing the holidays and physical therapy is definitely challenging. And I’ve had a few tough days thrown into the mix. Things will calm down soon. I’m sure of it. But I am working hard to create pictures that  I can be proud of.. and I hope that you like them too.

I have included all of my credits, below the photos. I thought this may be a bit easier to navigate due to the amount of items in each picture. My theme for this month with Peace, love, and joy. I encourage all residents to put issues aside, come together, and be friendly. Peace on Earth …good will toward one another is the true essence of the holidays. Lets love one another enough to care about each other. We can not live without the help of each other…and humanity can be a beautiful gorgeous part of life, when we seek the positive out of life. I hope you fill your heart with love and share that love with others this wonderful holiday season

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died. Steven Wright

In the last few months, I’ve been using tarot cards as inspiration for my photos. So when  I made my second life Halloween inspired land… I knew that a table with tarot cards was a requirement. It has come full circle with this latest picture.

 It’s such a joy to wrap up my last series of photos up with this picture. I’m a bit of a tarot card reader. It’s something that I do for friends and family. So I wanted to take that real life interest and let that be my muse. I really love this outfit. I didn’t win this wonderful dress by candy doll at the Epiphany, but I did buy it from the marketplace. However, I did win the gorgeous wings from Candy doll’s set at the epiphany. I just had to have the dress, so I bought it. Moving right along, Zenith makes really gorgeous masks, available at Collabor88. I always get a little excited seeing a mask made by them. I know it will be stunning. When I saw this dress, I knew right away that it would pair nicely with this mask. The hair is by exile and is also available at collabor88. It’s a really great style and just down right cute. Alisha is wearing the rare hat from shadenfreude available at the Arcade. The dress and stockings are from canimal, Her hair is from doux.

Finally, a lot of the decor came from Collabor88. UnKindness created this really great furniture set to include the cabinets, books, and moon statue. The candy on the floor is from the wonderful ++half deer+…. a creator that makes the cutest things. My wallet is always handed over to this company, happily might I add. All the other items will be listed in the credits section, down below.

I know this blog post is a little short. This week has not been kind to me. Normally, I would write up a long blog post, but I need to take care of myself a bit today. But don’t you fret….. I’ll be back to semi normal in a bit.

Seasons Change

I’ve been trying to catch up with my blog posts. While catching up with my blog posts, I’ve gone through a few really tough moments in both words. It’s hard sometimes to play catch up in any world. Also, when you’re not at your strongest, it seems like the world can see that moment of weakness and play upon it. I hate to think people do that in any world, but I know people do. So in the midst of frustration over playing catch up, I found this quote.

Sometimes you’re going to fail, or be rejected. It’s really hard not to take it personally. Either you body will fail to do what it’s supposed to do. Or maybe you get rejected from a potential job, or even relationship. It’s so incredibly easy to lash out. It’s easy to get angry and upset. It may even be our first reaction to the situation. BUT, the best thing a person can do is vent… get it out of your system to someone you trust. Then, move on emotionally, look at the situation critically and analyze your actions. Can I change my behavior so this doesn’t happen again? Can I look at this situation as a learning experience?

I believe that every experience a person has can ultimately teach us something about ourselves. I’ve seen time and time again people lash out on social media, get angry, and total lose their cool. No matter what happens to you…. no matter what is said to you, no matter what is done to you, there is one thing that will always save you and that is yourself. How you react to any given situation can either doom you or can save you in the future. You get rejected. Thank them for the opportunity and walk away. No good ever comes from lashing out. I once read a Joan Rivers book and she gave me the best advice that I’ve ever received. Don’t get mad or seek revenge on someone in a business situation, because you never know when that person will be your boss one day or vice versus.

I bring all of this up because I’ve had a lot of time to think about failure and rejection. I’ve even dealt with failure and rejection. It’s never fun to deal with those issues but they are always teachable moments. Maybe we have them to humble us. It may even be the match that lights the fire. It drives us to work harder, be more, and push us. I don’t look at failure or rejection as a personal attack on me or my work. I look at it as a learning experience… a chance to improve. When you look at a situation in a different light, the situation changes. A negative can become a positive.

In the past month, I’ve had to go through a huge emotional upheaval. I think all residents can relate to going through things either in second life or real life that plagues the mind. You get this one moment or quote that makes a person stop in their tracks. I had to look at my health and not focus on the difficult road in front of me–future surgeries, physical therapy, and pain. I could focus on all that hardship and focus on it. OR I can look at how it will shape me to be a better person. I can look at everything as an opportunity to feel better. If I spend all my time focusing on the negative, I miss out enjoying all the good parts of life. So perception is everything… How our view of what happens to us or around us impacts our life and even the people around us.

So I don’t want people to fear the winds of change. I don’t want to fear change myself. Rather I’m taking the journey of change…humbled and thankful. I know this blog post is more reflection than blog, but it’s a reminder to me and maybe to others too… keep your chin up and work hard. You will get to where you want to be or destined to be, just keep trying and moving along. You WILL get there. Also if you must seek revenge, I take the advice from beyonce… work harder my friends. I have never regretted working harder…ever. And when possible, work smarter…not harder. That’s it for my wise words of wisdom. And when I say work harder, I don’t mean taking on too many commitments. I mean..take something you love to do and hone your skills. Do something that you enjoy and work hard at it. You will get personal joy and growth over time.

Finally, I’m going to talk about my blog. There are a ton of items featured by events. My shoes are from Cosmopolitan by Utopia@Design. My shirt if from Eliavah and available at the fabulous… Au Lovely event (I would not miss this event). I keep going back and buying things. Shopping is wonderful right now and there is no better way to bring in autumn than with a new do, nice clothes, and some fresh furniture. Hey, I had to get a dog in there too. I do love my animals. I hope everyone had a great first day of summer, first and foremost!!! This year seems to blazing by in a flash. I am loving the journey of blogging. This photo up above has been a photo that I wanted to take for the longest time, but I waited for the perfect dress and accessories (just like in real life). I wanted everything to be perfect and I wanted it to be like how I envisioned. Also I want to put out there… NO I am not getting partnered. This is just a photo for the beauty and fun of it.

I’m still continuing with my series of tarot card inspired blog posts. This post is inspired by The Empress card. I looked through all the other major arcana cards and I knew this card would be perfect for this photo. It’s the card of femininity. “She is also sometimes seen as delighting us with flowers and fruit. A potentially terrifying aspect of this archetype manifests itself whenever karmic mood swings wipe out our plans, like a storm that has come upon us.” I’ve gone through a lot of things that wiped out my plans, only to put me through a different and a necessary path. Those paths led me to a wedding dress and some flowers. Honestly, I chose this card to go with this picture because it screams femininity too.

Speaking about this dress, I won this dress from the arcade. You’ll have to hurry though, because the days are numbered for the arcade. I won it from the Dead Dollz gacha. I knew right away this dress would in fact be “the” dress for this photo. I’ve waited way too long to take it. But today was the day. And I am sort of glad that I did wait. There are so many great items at the arcade this round. I can’t gush about it enough. You’ll have to hurry though. The arcade won’t be around too much longer.

Finally, I have to talk about this pose. I bought this pose at the vintage fair from a friend and pose maker–Nantra. I have to give a huge shout out to Nantra poses. They are a great pose company. It doesn’t hurt that the owner is also extremely sweet. I’ve been friends with her for some time and I should have raved about her poses long ago. If you haven’t checked out her store, I highly recommend it. Again, this pose is from the vintage fair and called Follies. The original pose did come with an adjustable and removable prop and the couch of course. I have not altered this pose at all. I rezzed it and I took the prop off and added a bouquet. Then, I snapped this picture. It is truly incredibly when a pose creator makes a pose that you can take a picture of right away. This creator truly is creative and talented.
